A quoted link was illegible?!

Maybe it looks different to you?

to us, the entire bit you posted was a link--so underlined blue text for two paragraphs is a bitch to read.

mugs closed the hyperlink in the first line of your post. what you originally posted, however, hyperlinked everything.

Still hate the new OT rules. Yet another screw the defense/special team side of the game.

I think the new OT rules are great personally. Overtime ending on teams marching down to the 20 for the chipshot was pretty lame imo.

My only problem with OT is they let games end in a tie. That is stupid. This is the NFL of America! We don't have ties; we don't wear ties; we have nothing to ties us down! You know who tied in WW2? The French. And we sure don't want to be like them.

You know how you stop a team from getting an easy field goal, you play defense.

I disagree with your argument, but I approve of your rant.

What's that? Does it include a Manning? Where do we find one of those?

seriously. There is no defense in the league these days. You either have a great offense or a shitty offense.

...not to say that defense is useless or that some teams aren't good at it, it's just that teams don't really build for it anymore.

Now, I traditionally agree with you lupi--the old rule wasn't a problem, because you should expect your defense to their job. The problem is that just doesn't apply these days. plus, I think giving the winner of the coin toss the distinct advantage of having to move the ball only so far was really lame.

I actually just think allow ties is silly. I have no doubts if the Cowboys were going to end a game in a tie, they'd find a way to lose it, because a tie would be worse than a loss.

I don't mind ties so much, because they are infrequent enough that they never lead to end-season controversies or complications.

I only dislike ties where they are an inherent part of the sport, with their own scoring system (for world championship bracketing): soccer.

Soccer is also a sport that measures a player's flopping effectiveness as a tracked stat; so, of course they'd be okay with ties.

I really can't believe there is a fan of a sudden death overtime here. There's no compelling argument for sudden death that doesn't get covered by the current system. :colbert:

I remember the Jets losing on the first offensive play to the niners once when the RB went ~80 yards to win it....I still say those liking the new OT rules needs to get their pussies checked.

and scored a TD?

that would still be an instant win with today's rule.

sudden death still applies. You realize that, right?

At least he's been to the Superbowl since, with Manning you just hope he can win a single playoff game.

Actually, Brady has been to two Super Bowls since Spygate broke and lost both. Manning was in the Super Bowl the year it broke IIRC and was in another one a couple years after. So since Spygate became news, Manning is 1-1 in Super Bowls and Brady is 0-2.

No amount of spying on opponents' signals could have overcome the Velcro Catch. I don't think we'll ever see a more freakish sports play in our lifetimes.

So I wonder if Matt Flynn will get some big offers this offseason. :D

Probably, but if he was smart he would stay in GB as a backup. It just seems to work for him there.

When Seattle signed him, I wasn't all that down on it but after watching Russell Wilson play I am so glad Pete Carroll had the balls to start the rookie over a free agent who signed with all intents of starting.

Wilson is set to smash Marino's record of wins to start a career for 2 seasons. If you don't watch Wilson and just rely on box scores, you don't realize how good he is. A perfect fit for Seattle.
