Hello everyone,
I have this question: What does 2x7800gt sli equipvalent to? I'm debating whether to buy a 8800gts for about $300 or buy another 7800gt and run sli with the one i already have. Thanks for all the help in advance

It's about the speed of a single 7900 GTX. Don't waste your time buying a second card, buy a faster single card.

I switched from two 7800GTs@550/1300 to a single X1900XT and it was pretty close performance wise. Do like BFG suggests and just get a single high-end card.

ATI forever :)

Probably not the smartest thing to go for an ATI card right now. ;)

actually if you look at latest benchmark with updated drivers... 2900XT starts to show its strength.

where are these new benchmarks ? I haven't really looked to hard for them, but I've been curious since the second I saw the new catalyst drivers come out.

Yeah SLI doesn't make any sense if you can acquire greater or equal performance on a single graphic card.

IF you can dump 2 7800GTs for about $90 or so thats' $180. For $140 extra you can get 8800GTS 640. That's what I would do. HD2900XT doesnt seem like a good value when it costs $100 extra and sometimes doesn't even outperform the 8800GTS card.

I just got a 8800gts 640meg eVGA and I love it!! Great performance but i have not tried it with vista however. It kickes my old x850xt's butt.
