Avtech, how the could they hijack so many planes @ one time?

Have you ever seen the security at the airports???? They are only paid like 5 dollars and hour. And many of them arent even US citizens. It's a joke and it would be easy for and organized group to get away with it. I have been working at Airports for 15 years now and im suprised that something like this didnt happen sooner. Airplanes are full of fuel which becomes an excellent guided missle. I hope they get the bastards quick and that they dont hurt anymore innocent lives.

we should stop throwing suspicions, we did exactly the same thing after the oklahoma city boming and it turned out to be a domestic boming. As for what the us will do next? nothing until they find the people that did it.

Avtech, thanks for the reply, suspected as much, if they're anything like the folks @ the metal detector, no wonder. They look @ me like I'm a martian when I explain the plate in my arm that keeps triggering the detector. What scares me is when I don't trigger the detector:|

Right, but why just go in a bomb the sh!t out of a country? Then their allies get mad at us to. Then our allies get mad at them cuz they are mad at us. Then both our allies start fighting, and we find ourself in another world war.

Invading and destroying a country that we don't even know if they are responible is just pointless.

You wanna just kill more people?

Without guns, there's no way every passenger on that plane would sit idly by and let these guys run the plane in the WTC. There must have been guns.

They could have held a couple of stewardess as hostage... rushed up to the cockpit and knock out/killed the pilots before anybody knew what happened. After that, what could the passengers possibly do? Just hope that the hijackers demands are met... they had no idea they were part of a kamikazee flight, so nobody felt the need to be a hero.

I think that's probably what happened during hte Pittsburg flight that crashed in the woods... eventually the passengers overcame the terrorists, and the plane crashed.

What's a more likely scenario:

They were able to subdue the pilots without guns (by sheer force).

Or

They were able to smuggle multiple firearms onto multiple flights at multiple different airports WITHOUT a single detection.

Wow me posting in a political type thread.

I believe what needs to be done, is of course to identify and punish who did this. But, how?

I truly hope this was a state sponsered terrorist act, as we will have a more clear moral opponent. Even without complete state sponsership, I think it would be hard pressed for one to believe that a cordinated attack like this, was done without the knowlege of some nation. Just by housing, and giving these groups shelter, condems them.

So scenrario 1. If it is totaly state sponsered well, the descison there is an easy one.

So scenario 2. If it is a cell that gets its shelter, and possible money and training from state, then you tell the country, you are either with us or against us. And you do a planned incursion into their country, and bring out the responible parties.

We have the capability to do both these things, even though our intelligence and defense budgets were cut throughout the Clinton years. And it is those very things, we shall have to look much closer at now, and hopefully learn from.

My prayers are with those that died innocently.

So is the massive destruction of innocent American lives. I say we use any and all force necessary, including "the big one".

My opinion: The nuclear weapons mankind has created have enough power to destroy the earth 10 times over. No joke. The reason this attack is so stupid is that it is an invitation for war, and most countries are avoiding wars now to avoid Nuclear war. A nuclear war will result in the destruction of all mankind. We are a powerful country and people look up to us. We must not set a precedent that it is ok to use Nukes. They are a sacred weapon of mass destruction, not to be used unless the user can accept being bombed in return. If we bomb the accused country, that portion of the earth's surface will be uninhabitable by man or nature for hundreds of years, and the food grown there will be poisonous for many, many generations. Let's not waste human and natural life. Let's not doom the earth. What I'd like to see: destroy several of their strategic buildings and symbols of their national pride, give warning beforehand so that civilians will be safe, block trade with those countries and attack them in as many ways as possible without nuclear or bio weapons. I would prefer to see less violence in our punishment for them, but being the pacifist that I am and understanding that this view is probably idealistic, I am prepared to accept that our attackers will bleed and suffer under our retribution.
