i highly recomend the AF12. Check my link on this forum on my super quiet NAS box. Im running 2 AF12's and 1 CM tri blade fan. They work awesome and i cant hear the box unless im less then 1-2feet from it.

Also you really dont need a Hard drive cooler. Just mount a 120mm in front of them. Or get a scythe bay which will allow u to mount a fan in place of 3 x 5 1/4 front bays.

My Old Thread on Super Quiet NAS Box

Also if your that much into a quiet box, i would suggest some noise absorbing material. It does wonders.

Just on a note, the AF12 fans can only be used as exhaust fans. The mounts on it prohibit it to be used as a intake fan. Yate looms are great, however if its for cooling a hard drive, i would use the CM Tri-blade. They push just enough air to keep your hard drive cool and yet you wont hear them over anything else.

Also to my knowledge the quietest fans are papists fans. There extremely expensive tho costing more then nexus. But you'll be fine with a AF12 if its used as exhaust.

I've heard good things about both. The Panaflos would push more air at the same db level if you can fit the wider size fan in there.

Umm.... Nexus is rebadged Yate Loon with an in line resistor. Paying the premium price for the Nexus is just silly in my opinion.

The manual fan controllers look better, IMHO.

So basically you just want LEDs and knobs on the front of your case? To me that seems like a pretty bad reason to opt for a fan controller.

well, if you read the whole thread, I said I ditched the idea of a fan controller when I learned 4 fans was overkill and possibly counterproductive. The manual fan controllers parallel the utilitarian look of lian li cases, and they use less power.

I guess I'm slightly confused... so you are not going with a manual fan controller?

I have YL 120mm in my cases and for the price and quietness, you can't get better. I'm still using my generic HSFs on my CPUs
My ambient runs between 22C/28C, so my CPU 32C/38C working. Under load 6C more. mobo 26C/33C.

I believe in unrestricted airflow. Adding a 120mm side intake and a top exhaust will greatly make a difference.

I might add more fans later, but I'll jsut start with 2. Any threads/sites that instruct on how to cut the hole in the top and/or side of the case?
