I have never seen paper temp plates anywhere but in a rear window in NJ or NY.

paper plates should be treated the same as regular plates, you cant even put the license plate in the front window must be mounted notice how no one posted a law that conflicts with teh law i posted? if no one ever shot the police during traffic stops i think they would behave differently at someone not stopping right away etc.

Imagine the difficulty in seeing that paper plate on the inside of the rear tinted window on an unlit highway. Yes you can see it in the video in the well lit area. Cry all you want that the "asshole with a badge" should have seen it, but they did not. The driver took a 5 minute traffic stop and tried to turn it into a 3 million dollar payday.

He did not ‘lead them on a chase’, he traveled less than a mile to a well lit location, which is entirely within his legal rights.

I suggest you watch the video again, the cops are totally out of control, screaming contradictory orders, making death threats, and ultimately brutalizing someone who had committed no crime.

The good news is the state is now investigating these cops so with any luck they will be disciplined or fired. What I do know is that guy is about to get a large payment.

the driver wanted problems. i am surprised all he got was pepper spray. this is what happens when you think you don't have to obey police orders. they said "felony stop" on the radio before the officer got out of his patrol car. why didn't he just get out and lay on the ground?

I have had the same thing happen to me except i complied with the police orders toss teh keys on the ground get out and lay belly down on the dirty gas station ground.

Have you ever spoke to a police officer? Outside of their job? They are the most terrified people I know. Jumpy jumpy. Constantly harping on how their job is the most dangerous in America (it is not). Carrying a gun around off duty, etc.

It is like a sickness. Something about the job takes people who are slightly inclined toward paranoia and drops them into a pool of it. They become scared of everything, suspicious of everything, and kind of lose connection with reality. It is not as bad as Q, but for a certain percentage of people who become police officers something about the training, the mentality, and the job simply messes with their mind.

People think they are getting off on some sort of power trip, but it is the exact opposite. They are terrified, and have been told if they are going to get shot as a police officer is most likely on an ordinary traffic stop. Every time they pull someone over it stresses them out, and sooner or later they just snap. A whole bunch of them are just terrified of everyone.

There was no mention of a FELONY stop........also -- In the statement Sunday, Windsor officials said an internal investigation opened at the time into the use of force determined that department policy wasn’t followed. Officials said disciplinary action was taken and Gutierrez has since been fired.

What reason did the officer believe it was a felony stop other than not seeing a license plate? You keep arguing that it was a felony stop, yet that makes no difference because the driver did nothing wrong that warranted it to be a felony stop. You also keep arguing about the location of the temporary license placement, as if the location somehow warrants how these clowns treated the Lt.

You also keep saying he should have done what the officer directed him to do, even though he was given conflicting directions. So, basically, you believe instead of keeping his hands sticking out of the window (one of the directions given) he should have ignored that and reached in, unlock the door and undo his seatbelt, which would most likely result in being shot. (Don't even start with the "he should have told them he needed to reach in to unlock the door and release his seat belt" because it's painfully clear that these officers had no intention of listening to him from the start, or de-escalating the situation, even after seeing the temporary license)

I don't know about you, but when getting conflicting directions on what to do, I would also choose the one that wouldn't cause me to get shot and possibly killed. Just as the Lt. Did.
