<< The people here calling the MR-2 "under powered" have never driven the thing, and are only parroting what they've read from spec sheets.

I've had the pleasure of driving one, and it can hardly be called "under powered." It's got all the power you'd need for a small two seater roadster.

Roadsters are NOT about brute power, and never have been. They're about turn on a dime handling. Besides, sub 7 seconds 0-60 is nothing to sneeze at.

Its easy to turn on a dime when the car is going slow.

I've ridden in one, never driven one. I still say its way underpowered. The old MR2 Turbo was a model of what 2 seaters should be like. Wish we actually got those in the later 90s 🙁

<< BCYL........ I think we get it next year 😀

Really? are u sure?

I have been thinking about getting a miata... if MRS Spyder is coming then I might wait and check that one out first...

<< like the old mr2 better ... >>

oh HELL YES, not only is the styling beautiful, but it actually could rip off some damn nice acceleration times. Imagine hearing a turbo spool up BEHIND you, omg =)~~~~~ Anyways, I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up earlier. I think this new MR2 is an atrocity compared to the preveious generation of the car, styling wise, same goes for the Celica. I mean, how can you introduce a new generation of a certain car that's buttf*ck ugly compared to the previous gen, and not only that, but it's marginally weaker as well! The only thing I can imagine actually being improved is the handling. Other than that, I'd take the prev gen MR2 over this plasticky monstrosity any day!

Well, Toyota has no reason to spend anymore money and put a more powerful engine into the new MR2... it's only real competitor is the Miata, and the MR2 already beats it in terms of acceleration...

Even though the MR2 doesnt make that much hp, it's actually quite fast because of it's weight (or lack of)...

There's a lot to like about the MR2, one of my friends drives one and it's a fun car. But I just can't get past those "insane clown" headlights. 🙁
