a tip is meant to reward unusually good service... if the printed price does not cover their cost, let them raise their prices. I couldn't give a rat's ass about how they only get $1 per hour.... if i accepted that logic, should I not go around tipping all the unemployed and homeless..??

You are obviously incapable of rational thought. You don't understand the issues either....fortunately fine dining in your case is a KFC 12 piece bucket. No tip required.

oh no ??? why not ??
do KFC workers get $12/hour??

There's no such thing as a restarunt that "demands a tip" as far as I know. In europe most restaruants do add a gratuity charge onto bills but that's so common that it's considered more like a tax than a tip, people still tip there if they feel like they have been served exceptionaly well.

which is exactly how it should be...

When you go to a restaurant, you expect and pay for service. If you want just food, you go to a take-away. The restaurants display a price which includes GOOD service - which is expected and demanded (and almost always provided). If you do not get that service, you complain...

Not like in the US, where you are shown a lower price, then they whine if you do not tip for the service provided, and bitch about how they dont make enough on wages.... blah blah

fortunately you have a lot of americans who are too slow to figure the con that is being played on them and think it's their patriotic duty to leave 20%....

it is the business's responsibility to provide market wages for their employees

Wow, I'm getting trolling PMs from folks who don't have the balls to post in this thread. Good job  On top of that, if those folks would have read the thread instead of just being assholes, they would see their arguments already defeated. Oh well. They're probably not going to read this either.
