What do you think of people making comments during a movie?

Saw X-Men last night.

Some people made comments such as:

"Ohhhhhhhhh...watch out! He gonna smack you!"

"You call that a gun?"

"That's right, fool"

"You call that fast?"

"You call that a jet?"

and some more sarcastic comments that I care not to remember, but I do remember that I found it extremely annoying in the absence of cell-phones going off.

I think most of these are from nerds, die-hard fans, or 40-something 'cool guys', but I found it to be annoying when they just blurted out their comments and there was silence from the audience instead of laughs or the adoration that they were expecting.

Oh another comment that I remember now that was kind of funny:

<Wolverine extends his claws in the direction of a house cat>

"Watch out pussy!"

Do you guys have this same problem or care to comment about this?

Does "Hey sweetie, come a little closer and I'll butter your popcorn" fall into this category? Actually, yes it is incredibly annoying when people make comments in a theatre, it can ruin the mood/experience.

thats when you say "hey, STFU". Ive been to many theaters where there were many of those comments, and someone gladly said to SHUT UP, of course the entire theater began to laugh. 🙂 One time, these damn retarded group of High Schoolers were all making noise, right before the movie started, they simply WOULDN"T shut the F up, someone finally went and told the manager and they stopped the movie completely and told them to leave, it was funny, too bad they later came back.

danny~!

I think they should die in horrible pain.
edit: actually I politely ask them to be quiet a few times and, if that doesn't work, I invite people from the audience to help me in bodily removing them from the theater. People with that type of manners deserve removal from the gene pool, much less anything else that happens to them.

I usually get in a good shut up or two...then I either A) get the management or B) start throwing things, then get the management.

Yeah I love that...trying to boost their ego by yelling out "funny" comments. Really annoying and as bad as cell phones and talking during the movie. Should get you kicked out just as fast.

Thankfully not as bad as Chris Rock's description of shooting at the screen in innercity theaters🙂

LOL

The occasional comment is ok. Like one per movie per person. I was watching x2 and after the new movie with matt damon some guy to his friends mentioned that's what happens when you give somebody crack and a script; they sign on for movies like that. I found it funny. He didn't say another word all movie.

Overall if you're making comments during a movie that people other than your friends can hear you should quickly go fug yourself. Very annoying. VERY annoying. Don't make comments during the god-damned movie!

Oh, is there anything - and I do mean anything - worse in this world than being in front of 4 or more teenagers at a movie? Really, because I can't think of it. So fvcking loud. Get 7 or more and you might as well cut your wrists right there and then because teens get together and due to their own lack of self-esteem from being a teen have to pump it up around their friends by seeing who can be the loudest most annoying sh*t in the room.

what i hate worse is people taking their or relatives/parents that dont speak english and translating the whole damn movie to them ..and not even attemping to whisper! and yes this has happened more than once.

she proceed to rock the baby and shush here in the aisle!

You should promptly get up, and make a huge scene, and disrupt the entire movie.

Go to Tue. afternoon shows...no one's there

Although, one time I loved the comment...was watching Perfect Storm and at the end with the camera keeps switching between closeups of Clooney and Wahlberg....some guy yelled out "Kiss!"

in my opinion, there is no excuse for ANY talking during the movie. even if a friend whispers to me, i ask them to shut up so i can watch. if it's not life or death, it can wait for an hour until the end.
