What would happen if someone wrote a Chrome extension that replaced every mention of “AOC” or “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez” with “Paul Ryan”?

I wonder how many mainstream politicians and media ridiculed his appearance, fashion, youth or called him a dangerous radical for daring to talk about entitlement reform. Somehow I don’t think he was framed quite the same way.

I hadn't heard about this until you mentioned it. Googled it. Italy's ironically far right government is doing something like this. But it's different from the basic income model they're trying a pilot program for in Finland. It only applies to the poor, and it's conditioned on recipients willing to accept employment when offered.

It's a defective mindset that's been mainstreamed on the Right. I mean, what do you think Benghazi, Birtherism & Crooked Hillary were all about, anyway?

There have been dozens(and growing) of these so called single person attacks with these kinds ridiculous premises.

Attacks have also come from all corners of right wing media.

Notice how they haven't stopped. You are still in denial.

What's happening to America is Brandolini's law put into action. The amount of right wing bullshit generated on a daily basis is absolutely staggering & designed to change the way people think, and not in a good way. Even when 99% falls to the wayside what catches people's fancy is echoed & amplified throughout the right wing media & now from the office of the POTUS. It burrows right into the minds of susceptible people.

Name one time when left wing critics sounded off on what POTUS wears. If you are trying to bring the wife into it, it happens when she makes a spectacle of herself wearing that "I don't care" jacket. That was a look at me.

Also I don't see any Democrats stalking Melania taking pictures of her ass.

Most of her ideas are fine and frankly conservatives aren't in any position to criticize public policy after the magical thinking they have displayed over the last two years. Conservatives have become absolutely deranged by this woman though, it's like nothing I've ever seen in American politics before. Fox News is in a full-on hysteria about this woman on a daily basis.

This is a very large mistake on the part of conservatives though - she's intelligent, well spoken, attractive, and charismatic. Panicking about her is only playing into her hands and making her stronger.

In all fairness, the Demonrats wouldn't have to stalk Melania to get pictures of her ass. She put that shit out there years ago for all to see.

So dishonest. AOC is a freshman in Congress. Trump is POTUS. The power differential doesn't get much bigger.

They can't help it. It reminds me of the networks giving Trump millions of dollars worth of airtime in 2015 and 2016 because of the spectacle. Everyone knew it was helping him, but there was nothing to really be done about it.

1) How is the fashion editor of a paper a 'left wing critic'? I mean the whole job is literally to criticize fashion. What are they supposed to do?

She’s not criticizing him—she’s pointing out how his choice of attire could be seen as purposeful to help make his point that the border situation is an emergency (by dressing for an emergency.)

The right definitely threw fuel on the fire but she was a big deal right out the gate for primarying that guy. And for being the hottest person in Congress.
