We were eating roast dinners here long before 1707.
American food is the best. We take food from other cultures and make it our own. American-Chinese food is the bomb, but real Chinese food? No way.
Well enjoy because that's been in the US since 2003.
I like ramen but I sure love pho if I had to choose. Where i grew up (MA) pho rocks.Zeze I know you got Zedd on your mind, but since you live in northern NJ I take it, have you taken missions around the NYC Metro area to eat some of the best ramen in the galaxy? Every shop is a bit different.
yeah i joke but i love it over there, everything is so old and awesome. i was thinking about doing canada for vacation this summer but i might just come over to britain again and drive around the island.
I'm not worldly by any means, but I'm a foodie. I can find something I love in just about any region. Only things I really don't like are tofu, sushi, tons of fat on meat (usually like you find on fancy lamb chops), asparagus, and muscles.

I had my share of ramen here yea:
Santouka (mitsuwa)
Ippudo
Ivan ramen (awful after watching his netflix special)
That David Chang joint. Too salty.
And more.

There have been 5 whole cases - 5 - in 15 years according to the CDC. Britain has that in what, a year?![]()
Pho is God's gift to man.I'm with you. I'll take pho over ramen. I like ramen but it's so over hyped.
I don't know, why don't you look it up? We have really rigorous public health laws so we test everything so it should be easy to find out. It's why you can't sell American beef over here.
Get along you two. No one cares about US vs UK for the umpteenth time.I don't know, why don't you look it up? We have really rigorous public health laws so we test everything so it should be easy to find out. It's why you can't sell American beef over here.
Best steak I've had is in the US but you can find good steaks in lot of countries. I hear Argentina has good beef.
I have heard Argentina has very, very good (and super cheap) beef. They're on my travel agenda at some point, I think.
Good beef is important but so are the cooking techniques and spices/sauces. Argentinians know how to cook the beef and Chimichurri sauce is great. Like the Koreans, they know the best cut of beef is short ribs.Maybe we can send Zedd there to bring us back some beef. And he could find himself a nice gaucho while he's down there.

I drive an hour one way to eat pho. I don't do that for most food. But I've been practicing making pho at home and I can make pretty good pho now using Korean bone broth.Pho is God's gift to man.
No one - NO ONE - beats the US in pizza. As someone who has been to Italy many times and tried a ton of different pizza there, nothing comes close to good (ie, not Pizza Hut) American pizza. A local mom and pop or even a high-end regional chain here is going to slap an equivalent Italian pizza place silly.
I've never had lasagna anywhere in the world that can remotely touch what I've had in Italy. Tuscany has an awesome wild boar ragu that is incredible. But the thing you'll notice about authentic Italian sauces is that they use more plain ingredients and they generally aren't as "spiced" (for lack of a better term) as much as sauces we have in the US. I don't think either approach is wrong and both can yield excellent results. I'm not one of those people who go to Olive Garden, hold my nose in the air, and say "Oh, I've been to Italy many times and this isn't authentic!" I appreciate pasta and sauces no matter where I get them and there aren't many truly bad ones.
I saw French cuisine mentioned here - I love it. Duck, foie gras, the various sauces and cheeses - just incredible, even at your average corner establishment. If you get the chance to go to Normandy, try the salt marsh lamb which is raised in the coastal areas (esp. around Mont Saint-Michel).
Regarding American food, I have to agree - we have so much variety and different regional selections that we have to be mentioned too. Our steaks are the best (though South Americans might disagree) and good luck getting a hamburger outside of the US which approaches even a mid-tier chain here.
I think the best beef is actually Wagyu beef from Japan, followed closely in second by Hanwoo beef from Korea. But you never hear people say Japan or Korea have the best steaks. Steaks are more Western cuisine. I'm more interested in Argentina BBQ style of cooking than their beef. In my limited opinion, US has the best BBQ but I've yet to try Argentina BBQ.I'm familiar with the reputation of Argentinian beef, and have had chimichurri sauce with flank steak numerous times and it's amazing. Perhaps you haven't been following the Zedd threads![]()
Late 30s Chicago area white guy. But, to be fair, I work in IT so have lots of coworkers from all over the world.Hey you have a very diverse taste. If you don't mind, what's your race and age? Also location?
WTF is Zedd?
