What do you keep the thermostat at in the winter?

I got rid of the thermostat that controlled the coal stove & replaced it with a simpler control. 40-60, it's set at 2, if it's on. 20-40, 3; 0-20; 4, below 0, 4.5

I try to keep the dining room, living room, kitchen in the mid 70's. Bedrooms are low 60's.
 
I don't have one, no central heating (yet), but I'm in Berkeley and the outside temperature only gets under 30 maybe once every 3 years on average. So far this year it's been quite exceptionally warm. In fact, most of the days in December so far haven't been cooler than a good 25% of our summer days. There will very likely be some cold snaps.

For me, low 60's is optimal bedroom temperature for sleeping.
 
64F during active hours, 58F during sleep time, use small electric heaters to heat specific areas if we need it warmer (like the bathroom before a bath, or at my wife's computer desk) and have heated mattress pads to warm just the bed at night.

Whoa! That even scares me. I have no central heating. I do have an electric blanket on my bed, which I sometimes turn on (in colder weather) usually only for the first few minutes to warm up the bed.

I will go to bed with my clothes on when it's cold in the winter, with a hoody, and I can pull the hood over my head, this really really helps. But the coldest I remember my bedroom being when I check it out around dawn is maybe 47-48 degrees.

I'll use space heaters sporadically, the kind with parabolic reflector, and I like to have a 250 watt heat lamp bulb hanging down in my bedroom and computer room, which I'll keep on for hours sometimes. It'll warm up the room 5 degrees or more over a 2-3 hour span (bedroom is small, around 80 square feet).

My bigger concern with temperature control in my bedroom this last year has been to keep the night time temperature cool enough for stressless sleeping. It it's more than around 64 degrees, I find it not so easy to sleep soundly unless I'm really tired. I installed a window air conditioner and an adjacent panel with two 200mm fans (which I use 100x as often as the AC), to push outside cooler air into the bedroom, has really helped. That also provides usually much-needed white noise!

From 8pm - 7am, heat/cool setpoints are 62-80. 7am - 8pm, 69-76. At 8am there is a half hour bump to 70-76.

Using ecobee Smart Si for thermostat. Nice to have all the modern features, and it pegs the temps right at the desired times.

Someone is home all day, so it never really varies during the day at this point.

68-71f or so, non-programmable thermostat so it just stays at whatever I put it. Not the most well insulated house so that can feel colder, plus high ceilings in the living room. It does not handle cold temps well..:/

I'd prefer it warmer, but don't want the added expense.

To get to that temperature where I live, I have to open all the windows of the house to achieve the necessary cross breeze. I likes it cold. 😀
 
19C to 20C maximum during the day when i am at home. Ideal temperature for inside.
At night i keep it the temperature at 16 degrees celcius. Ideal sleeping temperature.

Off. If it gets really cold, 64F max. Unless the woman starts bitching then it is whatever shuts her up.
 
This is my first winter in our place, but so far the downstairs is set to 74 and upstairs to 60. I just did some draft-proofing and light winterization and I may drop the downstairs to 72 since the living room stays warmer now.
 
Depends on circumstance. Not home, or sleeping, about 11-13c (it is actually a range, so it heats up to 13c, then stops, and only kicks back on when it hits below 11). When I'm home, about 22c. If I'm feeling chilly I might crank it to 24c. I work shifts so I made my own custom thermostat system where I can input my work schedule. Basically there are profiles for each shift type. 12h day, 12h night and 8 hour day. Then I have 12h day weekend, which simply skips heating during lunch time.

Rarely do I get to actually feel the house at 11c unless it's night and I have to get up to pee. (and that sucks!) I'd actually put it lower but I'd need to put more sensors around the pipes to play things safe.

In summer, I leave the system on a blower only profile, and it just kicks on the blower a few times per day just to circulate the air. I don't have central AC. Eventually I'll get it but it's on the bottom of my priority list. It's a "nice to have" thing that I can get away without. I have a portable that I setup in my office so I can at least cool that room down to a comfortable level when it's hot.

I wear sweaters etc.

The price of heating fuel is too damn high.

But we also use small electric space heaters, e.g., in the bathroom when taking a shower.

In the living room where the TV is I have a fireplace and that's helpful as the room has a cathedral ceiling and a lot of windows.

67 - 70 when at home and awake. Depends on how drafty it feels.

64 when sleeping or out of the house.
 
72 when I am home, and 66 when I am a sleep, I wear shorts and a t-shirt at home. I sleep with 3 blankets.
