65F all the time.

Who cares about the electric bill? I'd rather spend an extra $50 a month than sweat to death.

only on VERY humid days do we need to turn on the CAC. The ceramic tile floors keep our downstairs really cool. The carpeted rooms upstairs are a different story but we don't go up there until nighttime. We do have a separate older wall-AC unit we use in our bedroom that does not have a thermostat.

Don't have it and don't need it, but if we did, then it'd be something like 20C.

Living a hundred yards or two from the sea has its benefits ;)

$50 a month!!! I wish that was only the case. More like an extra $300 at least if I set my a/c that low.

How much are some fo you guys that have it set so low, paying for your electricity?

I paid $120 last month. That was with 65F running 24/7 all month, as it will this entire cycle as well.

And electricity is costly here. About 12 or 12.5 cents per kWh compared to <10 cents in other areas.

I should add that this is for a small house - about 900 square feet.

I'm at $250 with a 2k ft house. That's with the a/c set at 80 and turned off at night and in the morning...

Do you need A/C in Cali? I heard that you'll be OK if you just open the window.

3pm to 10pm its 69
10pm to 8am its 71

if i let it get over 76, it will take forever to cool back down.
