I just don't get it? I'm not trying to be a snob or anything it's just that they have driveways and garages in the back of their houses. If someone parked in my yard I'd be ticked. It's like these people don't care about the value of the area/community. I can understand if you have a party or something and don't have the space in your driveway you have your friends park in the yard, but this is practically everyday.

Take for example: You're looking to buy a house in the area (yes, it a very nice/decent area) and you see houses with cars parked on the front lawn when they have ample space in the driveway......... What would you think? WTF? or Cool, I like the touch of red sun faded S10 pickup truck against the green grass? :p

Lunch Break Front Door Service
I actually just got done cutting the grass when I saw this guy pull up to his front door. Thought it was amusing. Must've been his lunch break from work **LOL**

I'm tempted to go over one day and ask if the vehicle/s are for sale

Don't wanna get trapped in the driveway?

Who knows. All I know is that they just made a law around these parts that you can't do that.

$150K-$300K, thats incredibly cheap for a house if you ask me.

And that is pretty trashy to park on your lawn.

Who cares? It doesn't hurt you at all. The only reason people don't like it is because it's associated with trashiness. We park in our front yard when we have family coming over or when we're doing work on the driveway. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

We parked in our front yard the night before we had our roof done. They would have had issues with the dumpster, if not.

they just made a law in my town so ppl couldnt do this...it pisses me off...if you own the freaking land you should be able to do whatever you want with it...my rents used to live in a neighborhood with a contract and all these stupid guidelines...i wouldnt try my best to never live in such a place...

now, my landlord wont let me park on the lawn, but its not mine, so thats cool...but if i owned the place i should be able to do whatever i want with it so long as it doesnt impose on anyone else rights (such as making loud noises at late hours, building unsafe fires, huge parties where people block up the street, etc)

150-300k is pretty cheap for a house. You can get some nice houses for that, but it's by no means top dollar.

Although I agree it's pretty trashy to keep parking on your lawn like that. But, OTOH, I park my car next to the driveway on our 'desert' strip between our house and the neighboors house. Not enough room to accomidate all the vehicals we have. My dad's g/f parks in the garage, next to his motor cycle. My dad parks behind her, my uncle parks behind the motorcycle when he's here, otherwise my dad parks there, and I'm always on the side so I never have to move my truck.

Yes I understand but it's almost an everyday thing. I already stated that if you had a party and had friends over, but this?

There might be a law against it here too but hell if I'm going to say anything about it. Toilet Paper takes a long time to clean off of trees. Both families have 3x Punk teens.

There's zero trouble now and I like it, but I would'nt mind someone else saying something about it ;)

Why does it bother you so much?

Because it brings down the value of the community. Ask anyone who owns a home or is about to sell, they'll set you straight!

For $150K around me, you wouldn't have a yard to park in and you'd be lucky to have a car.

Why does it bring down the value of the community? Do you see what I'm getting at here? People don't question their own learned beliefs. Logically, how does parking in your front yard de-value your property or your neighbor's?

Money, plain and simple. More money brought into the area= better area. People will pass by a place if they see this crap and move to the next town. Less money for the community........ Get it?

Well it's all location. Real Estate here in ridiculous. A house of those sizes would cost you at least $500K. Like I said earlier, there are condos going for close to a million.
