Crysis has had three patches. Can we revisit this question after Far Cry 2 has had three patches?

Quality of game doesn't change with patches. Either it improves performance or something added to the graphics.

what? that's a load of bullshit

Well, until you play another 5 hours of Warhead, and you finish it. :) I agree with you btw, just commenting that Warhead is woefully short.

Actually, for an expansion pack, I thought it was right on the money. I clocked about 7 hours on hard without dying much. Considering it cost about 50% of a full-length title and *was* 50% of a full length title, I wasn't disappointed. It also had a lot more entertainment per square inch than Crysis, so it's arguably money better spent.

Oh, geez. 2 comments saying Warhead is better than both? I am barely slogging through Warhead (says to self: been there, done that). Not sure if I'm even gonna finish at this point. Especially as I understand there's just another corny boss battle at the end with a different colore alien then the first one.....I was excited for Farcry 2 too. This thread doesn't bode very well for me. Anyone selling theirs, shoot me a PM if you want.

Yes, Warhead is traditional FPS trappings with no especially new set pieces. But that's not why you showed up is it? If it is, that's your own fault. The reason someone dips into the Crysis series is for the excellent production values (and I have to say, things started getting really cinematic and interesting at the end of both Crysis and Warhead).

It's a shooter...what were you expecting? And it has some environments that make the ride worthwhile - I especially enjoyed *spoilers* scooting across a frozen ocean for a good portion of the game, as well as ol' defend the train bit */spoilers*

I thought the original Crysis was better than warhead. There's just more depth with Crysis. Warhead was more like shoot em up and enjoy the environments again. I don't know why reviewers gave that a 9 rating either. Should have been a good 8.

Yeah I agree. Warhead looked better but Crysis played better.

I agree. PC Gamer only gave Warhead a 73%. That's pretty close to what I'd give it. Maybe just slightly higher.

I'm only a couple of hours into Far Cry 2, but at this point Crysis easily outclasses it.

It is an expansion pack, so I wasn't expecting anything any longer. I'm just saying that I enjoyed it so much, that I didn't want it to end when it did.

I acutally like FC2 better than Crysis, but Crysis WarHead was a lot better than both of them.

Farcry2...with a nanosuit. Just imagine... no need for the gliders for reaching some diamond briefcases, outrunning cars, cloak and get into villages and kill without being spotted. I think they should really change the next Crysis. I guess Prophet is up for the next and he must be within the sphere, maybe he could go to a bar and have ice cubes:laugh:

No seriously, I liked the original Crysis storyline better, Warhead is just more fun to play but why did they have to make it as long as a Friends episode. It's fun to play again and again but after a while you know exactly who's behind which tree, how many aliens, which weapons to have in certain situations so it just gets lamer and lamer. That's not the story with Farcry2 where the only thing you do expect is that regardless of your direction you have some serious problems. Don't believe me? Try insanity level. Oh and you may want to take ALL the side missions before any main ones since your pills seem to last forever and it could very well be that they last as you reach a certain point in the game.

By the way, isn't Crysis supposed to be a trilogy? I hope Warhead doesn't count or I'll be pissed...:(

bug fixes = changed game play. 99% of patches I've installed, the graphics never changed, and performance, outside of bugs didn't change. STALKER comes to mind. SOF2's patch changed the game. A FC2 patch would almost certainly improve the gameplay. Developers tend to listen to the publics feedback, and attempt to fix issues. But if nothing else, a patch that reduces bugs in a game is going to change the game play :)

Honestly when I bought Far Cry 2 I thought it was gonna be like Far Cry, not like Crytek was gonna reinvent the game altogether, its got great graphics but doesn't follow any of the previous games' story lines. I think it is a piece of sh!t because of no story line and the stupid diamond mini-quest, 1/10 for weapons and 1/10 for the lack of consideration for fans of the original who wanted an FPS not an RTS.

Not the case with Farcry2. There isnt a major bug or play issue that will be changed with a patch which will dramatically change the game.

anyway, back to the point, I think its upto personal taste.

Graphic wise, Crysis is superior but farcry does have better sunsets and sunrises.

I think the environment feel is also better in crysis.

However farcry 2 isnt too bad i guess , I am playing it now but it is getting repetitive and I say its actually not a good game overall.

I say Crysis gets B+ for me and Farcry gets about C.

Wow, I don't think there is really any comparison, Crysis was by far the better game. I tried FarCry 2 and got so sick of it.

Crysis, totally. Far Cry 2 just seems too repetitive and tedious in a way - too many guard posts, the missions are all repeats.

Crysis by a mile IMO. I got really sick of playing Far Cry 2 after a couple of days. I'll probably never finish it as a matter of fact. I plan on playing crysis through again on each of my next 2 video card upgrades at least.
