HNN,

1200 calories is good for you if you do no exercise at all and sit at a desk all day. That will get you your 1000 calorie deficit which is good for 2 pounds a week.

I saw you upped your intake to 1700 later in the thread. That will drop you 2 pounds a week so long as you burn 500 calories doing other stuff.

Weights are hard to gauge. I have yet to find a calculator that tells me benching 200 pounds @5x5 will burn Z calories. I just assume 500 calories are burned. In part because of hte lignering effect of my body needing energy to build muscle. I figure that does some fat burning.

At your weight, running a mile burns about 150 calories.

So, what is it that you do for exercise?

Usually when you stall, you can go back up to maintenance for a week or two to reset and then cut calories again. Or some people will add in one or two refeeds a week depending on how many calories they cut.

Another thing I've seen is 2 - 3 cardio 20 minute cardio sessions a week to maintain cardio benefits. Cut calories like 400 below maintenance and then once your weight loss stalls, add in a little extra cardio until you stall again. Then you drop an additional 200 calories.
