What do the Republicans have to do to win in 2016?

Fiscal conservatives are not the problem, it's when they bring on their social views they polarize more than half the nation (and growing). Time to put down the heavy religion and bring on the rationality.

This, Those social values aren't even Conservative at all, These views are backwards and must be taken out of their platform if they want to win against obama. These social views only give ammo to the pos obama to paint them as sexist and homophobic

If the gop really wanted to win they would not have put romney as their candidate. They had a chance with Ron Paul but the morons screwed him out, if they ran Ron Paul they could have won instead of that pos obama.

My Friend, they don't need President Obama to point this out. 😉

Because fertility is not a medical problem.

It like asking what is the difference between an artificial limb and a tattoo.

Run that by your Doctor once. 😉 Oh and there are very few Major Insurance carriers who don't cover contraception meds ,so you will have to change that too.

Are you seriously trying to claim that fertility is medical problem?

And it is the Republican Party that needs to be rational? :awe:

Are you seriously implying that Medical problems couldn't result from a fertility or the pill is not needed for Medical reasons period?

Medical reasons why women take the pill....

I think you need to stop beating this dead horse and you are definitely illustrating WHY the GOP did NOT win in 2012. 😉

Maybe if this changed it would help too. 😉

Medical problems can result from having 2 arms too. Doesn't mean having 2 arms is a medical problem.

You were the one arguing that Republicans oppose contraception. Don't deflect to other actual medical issues.

So if I am deflecting please by all means show me the Republicans who were crying over the contraception issue were ok with it as long as the contraception was needed for medical issues which you seem to be not able to grasp.

Contraception is by definition for contraception.

Also, you will note that ACA calls for contraception to be free of co-pay. A status not given to other drugs. Come on be honest. We all know the reason Democrats support BC pills is because of their contraceptive properties.

Because the Republicans will double down on their 2012 agenda, of xenophobia, shifting the tax burden from the wealthiest to everyone else, overturning the New Deal and Great Society programs that do not benefit the rich, restricting women's birth control choices, neo-con foreign policies, attempts to restrict non-Republican voters, etc The Democrats will have the support of the "Obama coalition" in 2016.

To anyone outside the Limbaugh and Coulter Republican reality bubble the GOP sounds like John Birch Society, apocalyptic, racist, xenophobic, gun crazed, anti-women, etc wackos. I write the above because I keep hearing and reading GOPers and supporters, like some members on this forum, repeat the same batshit craziness dogma. And they keep being surprised by the reaction of non-believers.

People voted against the Republican batshit craziness in 2012 and even more people will vote against it in 2016. If I understand what the Democrats have in mind for 2014, the GOP are going to take a big hit in the mid-terms elections too.

Republicans can't help themselves, they're screwed no matter what. Without their religious base, their racist base, etc. They would have very little base left! Nixon, Reagan, Ike, hell even Bush 41, would have a nearly impossible time winning a current republican nomination.

So if this status was giving to other drugs which you are paying for anyone than the rightist Jihad would be quelled who don't understand how insurance spreads out the cost over a huge pool of customers? 😵😵 Even if the copay is free EVERYONE is still paying for the cost of ANY drug. You Rightists bitch about having to care for bastard babies but don't like contraception? Please go back to my original post where I stated this same thing and please realize this is a HUGE reason why your party is going down the shitter....LMFAO

Unless you are saying abortion is birth control you are flat out lying.

Honestly what I take away from this thread is that Democrats are so afraid that Republicans might beat them if they run a non-Romney(ie doesnt come off as a rich elitist douche who flip-flops every 5 minutes) candidate they have a serious chance of losing. And that therefore they want to torpedo Republicans chances of winning by having them abandon core Republican principles.

This is exactly what I do understand. The purpose of the BC mandate is to get men to pay for BC pills for single women. So much for independent women not needing men huh?

But the copay of other drugs is not free. Democrats specifically targeted BC pills, a lifestyle drug, to be "free".

Why? To buy the votes of single women. Or reward them for their past support. Take your pick.

You seem to be the one who doesn't understand insurance. You buy insurance to cover events you hope don't happen.

Unless you are going to argue that women don't like sex. Birth control does not fall into that category.

Ever hear of that "lifestyle drug" for men called Viagra, it's covered by most insurance. That needs to stop immediately as well correct?

Religious conservative positions on social issues are "core Republican principles"? Since when?

I would think at least since 1980.

(1) Do you have any evidence that viagra is covered more often than BC? Private companies are free to choose which drugs to cover to best attract customers.

(2) Is it commonly provided without copay?

(3) Does the government mandate that viagra be covered without copay?

(4) Do men commonly try to get erectile dysfunction?

You're crazy.

Republican issues that get them in trouble:

1. Anti-abortion and family planning
2. Anti-homosexuals
3. "I think the right approach is to accept this horribly created — in the sense of rape — but nevertheless a gift in a very broken way, the gift of human life, and accept what God has given to you… rape victims should make the best of a bad situation" - Rick Santorum
4. Want to increase our defense budget which is already over $660 Billion dollars.
5. Want to expand our military influence overseas
6. Believe that 47% of the country is a bunch of deadbeats.
7. Want to lower taxes on the rich and increase it on everyone else
8. Obstructionism in Congress. Voting against their own bills.
9. Against healthcare reform
10. Overall they're the party of fear.
11. Anti-immigration
12. Anti-muslims
13. Anti-science
14. Want creationism taught in schools

You forgot their love of Tax havens and Corporate Welfare. 😉

(9) This helped them at least as much as it hurt them
(11) This is a lie. They are anti illegal-immigrant. Not anti immigration.
(14) I seriously doubt this had any influence on the election whatsoever.

I agree with (8) being the biggest issue actually. The Republicans should have stopped obstructing so much after they won the 2010 election. They should have taken leadership for making the Bush tax cuts permanent for the bottom 98%. If the had been willing to compromise even 10% on their agenda they could have gotten almost everything they wanted and looked like adult leaders.

Combine this with not mentioning the word rape EVER and we could very well be looking at a President Romney.

That's a load of crap. I don't pay ANY copay for ANY Tier 3 drug and have you ever had insurance in your life? More importantly have you ever worked before?

What corporate welfare are you talking about?

Tax breaks for green energy? Oh wait that is the Democrats.

Bailing out banks? Oh wait that was the Democrats.

Ummm I see you are Historically challenged as well....the origination of TARP occurred on Bushes watch and almost all Republicans signed on in normal lockstep.

(1) Do you have any evidence that viagra is covered more often than BC? yes, just as often.

(2) Is it commonly provided without copay? yes

(3) Does the government mandate that viagra be covered without copay? The ACA only mandates it when it is required for a women's health. There are legitimate reasons for a women to need birth control drugs, that have nothing to do with sex.

(4) Do men commonly try to get erectile dysfunction? yes, in that prescriptions for it is abused routinely

See bolded.
