What do the "deck height" and "deck thickness' of an engine block mean?

I didn't read your title close enough the first time. Sorry. Block deck height is the distance from the center of the crankshaft to the top of the deck (where the heads bolt on).

The top of the engine block is the deck.

Piston deck height is how the piston measures in relationship to the top of the block. A positive deck height means the piston top actually protrudes beyond the top of the head. Negitive means it is below the deck.

Block Deck Height is measured from crank centerline to top of engine block.

deck thickness is how thick the material of the flat part of the block is. usually somewherez around .600ish

Flat part of the block?

Aside from that, my questions have been laid to rest. 🙂
