The top of the engine block is the deck.
Piston deck height is how the piston measures in relationship to the top of the block. A positive deck height means the piston top actually protrudes beyond the top of the head. Negitive means it is below the deck.
Block Deck Height is measured from crank centerline to top of engine block.
deck thickness is how thick the material of the flat part of the block is. usually somewherez around .600ish
