May I suggest Tres Pistoles, a strong, french-canadian beer

Say it with my now A-L-C-O-H-O-L. Seriously though if you don't like it, so what some people do some people don't. The reason most people start drinking is indeed alcohol, but after a while you do start to like the taste of many alcoholic beverages. Or more likely your brain starts to associate the buzz with the taste so what used to taste bad is now associated with something you like so your brain says "hay I rather like the taste of this!"
 
I like the taste of some beers... other ones just don't taste that great to me. I can't say exactly why I like the ones I do... I don't care that much about it to analyze it like that. I enjoy MGD, Budweiser, Molsen Ice, and Yuengling to name a few. After 3 or 4 I can drink pretty much anything though... at that point taste isn't that important. 😉
 
Just like everything else in life we are entitled to our own likes and dislikes, and opinions. If you have only tried/tasted beer from a bottle or god forbid out of a can then you cannot objectively critique the flavor of beer, especially since it has been pasturized for life in a small container. I only drink "the Suds" from a tap protruding out of my extra refridgerator here at home. Even the cheapest of Beers tastes so much better chilled to near freezing when stored in a keg. I have a friend that drinks that rotgut "OLD Makemewalkfunny" from his tap system and it is actually palatable, although not my favorite. Like anyting else in life, you get what you pay for. If you buy cheap beer then you get bear that tastes that way. Salute!
 
American lagers are crappy. The only one I can stand is Coors, and that's because its cheap and that's usually what my friends get kegs of. Tastes metallic though, but not nauseating like Budweiser. If I have a choice of beers, I go with Newcastle or Bass (in bottles) or Guinness (on draught)
 
Actually, beer and wine are rather peculiar stuff. Wine is actually spoiled grape juice with yeast crap in it...usually so much so that the yeast have died from the toxicity of their own waste. Pretty much the same for beer except the liquid is a grain extract dissolved/suspended in water.

I like to point this out when people are being particularly snobby about the wines they like. Tends to slow down the conversation a bit.

By the way, does anyone else think that Pinot Noirs come in two taste varieties; outstandingly great or tasting like dirt?

I am so weak.

American mass produced pi$$ beer does taste like $hit. But Belgain beer and many american microbrews are incredible. Beer has a complex array of flavors that can't be matched by any other beverage.
 
I love a good beer, can get you laid which is always nice. Also many beers have a fantastic taste. Plus its a manly thing to do, and i like doing manly things!
 
Personally I like beer I don't drink stouts though I grew up on Old English quarts yea I know thats ghetto but it got me used to drinking.
