Gotta love America, where as can retards like you get a chance to vote?

I am not sure I agree with ya.
Most people vote for a party, not for a candidate. I think the estimate is in the 70% range. As in 70% of people vote for their party no matter who the candidate is. The remaining 30% (so called swing votes) are the ones that count.

They aren't too happy with our political leadership and foreign policy, but we're still up there in other areas. Third-world countries still think our streets are paved with gold as evidenced by Mexico and from what I've heard of people studying in places like Egypt and Vietnam. Also, our higher-education system is still pretty much considered the world's best. A person with an American degree is very well regarded in many other countries.

This! Despite the evolution/ID BS in your middle/high schools, your higher education institutes are the envy of the world, no doubt.

Higher education sure, but seeing as how that doesn't matter if people don't go because the schools k-12 didn't prepare them well enough to get INTO those colleges.

Want to be liked by the world? Vote Obama.

who the fuck cares what the world thinks....why would anyone base their vote on being liked by the world???

Maybe because they are impartial, unbiased, and well reasoned. Not to mention WE LIVE ON THIS PLANET WITH THEM. It's amazing how arrogant and stupid Americans can be. We take everything for granted.

Or, maybe the rest of the world has a very narrow view of our political inner workings somewhat like if you were to ask me about the inner workings that are going on in the French political landscape right now. I can't for the life of me think that I could look down upon the actions of a foreign political system without investing the time to really immerse myself into their daily goings on over an extended period of time.

We here in this country didn't vote for Bush because we are fools or because of fear, or hatred. We voted for Bush because of our loyalties to the conservative philosophies of a smaller government that intrudes less into our lives and is not prone to grab every dollar we make for every so called crisis of the day. We voted for Bush because the Republican party is supposed to stand for rugged individualism. We voted because the Democratic party threw at us an eco-nazi and and limp dish rag that wouldn't stand for anything.

Now, saying all this, I can say that we made a mistake. The only way that McCain could get my vote is if he could truly convince me that he stands apart from the fail leanings of the present administration and would return to the ideals I outlined above. At present he has not.

Just wait and see....

you claim tomorrow will be "a VERY historic day for the US, it's (sic) economy and it's citizens." when asked why it will be historic, you reply with "just wait and see"

sounds like you're either a jackass or a terrorist. which one is it?

Yes....my name is Achmed....I am a terrifying terrorist!

Well...we aren't any better with Obama and Biden who apparently need to have their own debates....

Just when I thought (several months ago) that this was shaping up to be the MOST IMPORTANT election ever......it has turned into a complete joke.

I am a McCain/Palin voter....and I will vote for them no matter what.

what election isn't a joke? when have politicians not been a joke?

That's the problem. I think every voter should think it thru and vote based what he/she thinks is best for their country, no?

I'm Canadian, and I like most things about the US and most of the Americans I have met and done business with are fine people.

The problems I see are that consumerism and greed have become the driving forces within the US and this has contributed greatly to the financial crisis.

On the foreign relations issue directly, the egocentricity of American politicians and people have given you the opinion that there is only one right answer to any problem and that the US must be correct. Not all people in the world agree.

In terms of the US doing things right we have a pretty good postal service. Also last year there were 0 deaths involving children riding school buses which is pretty amazing. So yeah we can do some things right.

Dude....a bus driver just ran over some kid when backing up yesterday......

The postal service has lost 14 peices of mail to me this year so far...

stop pissing off your mailman and your mail will stop getting lost.

The US does beer right.
Craft brewers in the US are making awesome beers in just about every style. One of the most obvious is Three Floyds Dark Lord Imperial Stout. It is viewed by many to be the worlds finest beverage. Of course all of these breweries, and many more, have beers are among the best, Three Floyds, New Glarus, Rogue, Allagash, Ommegang, Dogfish Head, Avery, Stone, Alesmith, Great Lakes, Anchor, and Goose Island.

Mmmm ... I love beer!

I'd sell my sole too. What are we talking about here? I would gladly sell all the soles off my shoes and even any dover sole I have around the house if it meant becoming President. I don't know that I would make a good President, but for such a small price, it would be worth it.

My relatives in Greece pretty much all say the same thing: America is an awesome country. They all want to come here to go to school, live, and work. In fact, most of my family is actually now in the United States.

The ones still in Greece reflect the typical European viewpoint on American politics. They think Bush is a complete joke. They don't understand how he got reelected. They believe McCain is an over the hill carbon copy of Bush. They absolutely loathe the war in Iraq. They believe our government is run by large corporations.

So, really I believe that other countries feel that Americans are pretty good people, but our government over the last few years has been one of the worst that they can remember.

Just from what I've been told, mind you.

I'm an American living in Paris (I've also been spending a bit of time in Greece these days).

Most Europeans don't understand why we picked Bush in the first place and they do not understand how people in the states even can consider McCain an real option. I'd say the biggest thing they are not understanding about Americans is the fear we feel. Many Americans live in fear of the other world powers, other religions, other skin colors, and often find themselves voting Republican. Liberals are less afraid (much like of Europeans). This may sound nasty and all, but to be honest there are times when world powers should not be ignored, and there are times when religions can create a threat to others - this is a real strength of the conservative movement.

The racism thing may sound like total BS, but based on what I hear and the fact that I have republicans in my family from the middle of the US who have already made it clear they will not vote for a black man (not that they were not republicans already) - I'd say it's true in some cases.

Let me make another point clear, I was a McCain fan up till about 2 years ago when he sold his sole to get into the oval office. While I may not have agreed with his foreign policy stands back then, he stood up for a lot of other things I believed in. It's tough to explain to Europeans that there was this dichotomy in McCain.

-Reader out

yea, the condescension really shows how superior you are. its just another reason conservatives don't like liberals. you are wrong, because you are stupid is basically what it boils down to. fear? give me a break. the left and europe are full of fear, which is why they give their governments more and more power to protect them as they strip away their own rights to defend themselves. it doesn't really work, so they give the government ever more power. you see this in the uk where guns are pretty much banned, but now knife hysteria fills the media. calls for things like random stops and searches and other nonsense, a slow slide into a police state.

what the left argument at this point boils down to is that if you don't agree with them you are stupid and racist. well they can really just stfu if thats the road they are going down.
