I'm a cop, and I love my job. My bosses, not so much, but my job is fantastic.

What about the paperwork? Every cop I've ever been around has complained about that at one time or another. That, and sometimes, the hours.

Well, at least paperwork is predictable. :p

The hours aren't the greatest, but I like working nights (no getting up early ftw) and 4x10 shifts gives me 3 days off a week, which is nice.

Paramedic/firefighter for the past 28 years. Still enjoy my work. I also have a part-time gig in the local Emergency Room as a paramedic. About the only other thing I'd rather be doing would be a fluffer for the "Girls Gone Wild" videos.....

I'm not sure as how much NASA worked you guys, but around my site most Mech E are dead weights that wanders around aimlessly (trying to look busy) or getting in my way.

Spoken like a true operator - am I right?

Well if it makes you feel any better I'm in Mission Operations as opposed to the engineering dept. Strangely enough I operate the ISS power system so I don't end up using much of my ME degree.

Algorithmic trading support for a broker.

It's not the most exciting job but I've learnt a lot and it's pretty interesting at times.

I'd probably rather be:

PE Teacher starting pay isn't that bad but it scales up very slowly
Strength and conditioning coach, again pay
Weightlifting coach, pay

Outside Sales in Factory Automation Equipment by day, half-ass musician by night.

I would obviously rather do music full time but I am not complaining.
