Looking for sensible ideas for my twin( Boy/Girl ) 16th birthday gifts. Post what you got or help me with ideas.

nothing special... my parents were retarded...

I'd reccomend going to kb toys and buying the kid a 1:18 scale diecast car of his dreams... if you want to make it really interesting, print up all of the registration forms from your state's DOT and fake him out into thinking you got him the car somehow.

Well, my dad was trying to do some excellent damage control, which failed, and pretty much forced me into buying a MiniDV vid cam even though I said I'd rather save the money towards a car. It totalled to $475, which probably brings that grand total of bday present in my life to about $650.

Before my older sister turned 16 she got a car. She doesn't have her license to this day and she'll be 20 in April.

It was only a year ago and umm, I dunno. I think money? Maybe not?

I pretty much get what I want when I want throughout the year, so presents on Birthdays and Christmas usually aren't something I really care about because if I really wanted something, I would already have it 😉

My daughter appreciates a gift card for shopping, computer software and her favorite cereal and pie. We don't do cakes anymore. My sister planned my 16th because my parents really didn't do parties. This was almost 40 years ago. I was so surprised and touched by her idea. I think birthdays are not meaningful unless they truly are celebrated as a special day. I am somewhat mystified by todays youth expecting material things esp expensive gifts. I don't disagree with being generous but it is the expectation that bothers me.

Just a cake and a hug, which I appreciated since my parents were seperating at the time. I consider their seperation my birthday gift.
