I was on the verge of purchasing a 40" LCD television to replace our rear projection television. The 40" is the maximum size that would fit in the custom built cabinet my son made for our living room. My wife loves the cabinet & neither of us would want him to feel bad about removing it. My son suggested mounting the television on the wall though.
SOOoooo, one thing led to another & I've decided to completely gut the room - all new wallboard, remove the ceiling (I'll need 2 or 3 box beams though), vault the ceiling, tongue and groove for the ceiling, new 3/4" oak flooring, etc. Then a bigger than 40" television. Now I have to save up so that I can do the entire job at once, rather than over the course of a couple weeks or months - only so I can prove to my neighbors how badly they were ripped off on labor for a bathroom remodeling job.
