What did we find deep in my top sock drawer?

You guys will certainly call shenanigans...

I posted number 300 on the "lost my gun" thread, and went home. My wife presented me with a little gift. I was SHOCKED.

I HAD PUT MY GUN IN THE BACK OF MY SOCK DRAWER! I guess I hadn't taken it to Jury Duty after all! I am not joking here -- I just called the police to report I had found it. They were happy to hear it, and I'm happy too.

I took a picture

How in god's name did you think you had a gun on you, run back to your car thinking you were going to put the gun away and imagine yourself putting the gun in your car, all while not realizing you were piece-less?

Hey, we all are forgetful now and then.

It happens to the best of us... not to mention the perfect gods who inhabit this forum.

Well I know I certainly feel safer knowing irresponsible people can carry a concealed weapon.

You've NEVER forgotten to lock something? Lost your car keys?

You've NEVER made an innocent mistake?

I certainly feel safer knowing ATOT is populated with virtually perfect god like creatures.

WOW...

you are wrong on this one.

you can not compare car keys or a innocent mistake to forgetting a weapon such as a gun.

he thought he had it and went to do something. then lost track of it and thought it was stolen. all the time its been in his sock drawer.

that is irresponsible. no way around it.

Forgetting something is one thing, imagining a whole seqeunce of events especially regarding a firearm is a wholly different beast.

It is world-class irresponsibility. There is no way to compare misplacing car keys to misplacing a gun. When you buy a gun, you take on the responsibility of owning a gun. It is like buying a car: when you buy a car, you take on the responsibility of driving safely.

This as$hole OP should not be allowed to own a gun if he cannot be responsible. End of discussion.

Meh you have to remember that guns are rare and exotic to many people. They may have never even held one let alone carried one on a daily basis. So of course they can't understand how it is just another object to the op that you leave the house with everyday.

I have never forgotten to lock my car, apt, etc.

I have never lost any keys, personal or company.

I have never locked my keys in my car.

I certainly have NEVER misplaced a GUN.

Exactly. It's just like misplacing something else. If OP carries all the time it's a part of his routine and becomes as familiar as cell phone, wallet, keys.

As much as I may agree with 2Xtreme21, I'm gonna have to side with hscorpio on this one.

Edit: And the post above. Forgotten my cell phone MANY times. Its vital to me as a gun is to some.
