What Countries are good for Americans to Emigrate to?

Of the places out there I would list the ones already answered. Australia, Canada, and NZ. However, here is a couple of other I would consider.

South Korea
Sweden

South Korea has been doing great economically for decades now. Only down side is having neighbors that would love to literally slit your throat, but what is life without a little bit of spice eh?

Sweden because they have been doing great economically for a LONG time. No one messes with Sweden it seems

If you are really Liberal, why not Afghanistan?

I met an Air Force 1LT in Kabul that had gone to the AF Academy, quit after the first year and moved to Kabul back in 2003. She worked at an orphanage off Darulaman Rd for 2 years, then went back to the US and convinced the AF academy to take her back. The next thing you know she's walking around Camp Eggers wearing a headscarf with her ABUs. She was the most muffin-headed liberal I've ever met.

LOL!

Run away! Run away! Run away!

Typical Liberals. LOL!

I am an American and will be forever. There is no greater place on the face of the Earth to live than the United States of American. So for you pussies that have nothing to add and only want to take, by all means leave. Go! We don't need you.

May I suggest Libya. Or Egypt. If you are really Liberal, why not Afghanistan?

$5 says you've never left your state and you married your sister.

India, and I mean it so fuck Rocksteadydotnet.:\

India will welcome american talent and enterprise with opened arms.

Because they were poorer.

The story of the second have of the 20th century and 21st century so far has been that if you have a reasonably organized and industrious society and are poorer than other developed countries you can undercut them and experience significant growth.

But like Japan, Korea will hit its limit eventually.

What do you do for a living?

I'm an accountant, something I enjoy and always an in demand job. Emigrating wasn't easy though, it was a lot of hard work. I found it more of a "fun" challenge. But I love to travel and doing things differently.

The majority of people I went to high school with who I see on Facebook appear to be living depressing lives and half of them probably don't even know where Australia is.

dave, i'm guessing that one of the reasons that you are thinking about packing it up is due to taxes. i'm sorry to say, but as a US citizen you will still have to file a US return no matter what country you live in.

you may pay tax in a foreign country and tax a foreign tax credit on the taxes paid or be allowed to exclude a certain portion of your income that you earned in a foreign country; all of that is true. but as a US citizen you still have to file a US return to correctly claim foreign tax credits or the foreign earned income exclusion. and once you start living overseas your tax situation will most likely not be covered by a simple turbo tax program that you picked up at best buy.

the US taxes all citizens on all income that is earned worldwide. the only way to get around this is by renouncing your citizenship. i don't know anyone that would suggest that.

LOL. There are many that would disagree.

<- an accountant as well, just longer in my career and further up the food chain.

I guess Dave could move to Asia and teach English. Pretty much no requirements for that, esepcially if you go to the country-side.

If it's any consolation, I emigrated from the US to Australia 4 years ago, got my permanent residency, and am up for citizenship soon.

Unemployment is low, wages are high, yes things are ridiculously expensive, but quality of life is far better then anything I found in the US. I live in a beautiful city, get water views wherever I go, walk to work the weather is great, and I work down by one of, if not the most breathtaking harbours in the world.

Only downside is my investments I left in the US which are now utterly worthless since the AUD is so strong.

Since you are in Australia right now, what do you think of the comments about Australia in this link? True, not true, or somewhere in between?

<<<--- kinda looking around to emigrate to Australia or Canada.

I believe they would be wrong, but I would encourage them to follow their dream. I wish them good luck in whatever country they choose to move.

You misunderstand, I wasn't posting an opinion.

Objectively the US isn't the best place in the world to live. By nearly any metric you want to measure it by there are better places to live.
