Gc would be my 1st choice
xbox has picked up steam and impressed me.(panzer dragoon orta, kotor, sega gt2002,jsrf) but there are alot filler pc "ports" that i have zero interest in.
ps2 has awesome variety, however i am really tired of the anime-esque rpgs and sub-par sequels that have appeared on it.But some very cool games are still slated to come out for it.

you really cannot go wrong with any one of the above, all have -'s and +'s

XBOX is the best, technically and for games . PS2 has loads of game but only about 5 percent are any good. Gamecube is technically inferior and games are too cutesy. :)

Sorry if this was said already but a modded xbox = ultimate entertainment system. Holds all my games, so that i don't have to bring them around when I go to xbox parties (yes my life is sad but 16 player halo is great :D), holds divx movies, great picture viewer, mp3 player, basically can do almost anything a computer can do, oh yes and 16 player halo needs another mention. Also I can't wait for the Karaoke that's coming to xbox :p

If you like RPGas, get a PS2. The PS2 has the largest variety of games and definitely has the best RPGs for it.

I have the GameCube. I absolutely love it. If you get the Gamecube, be sure to get Eternal Darkness! GC is ownage. I got it becaseu F-Zero is coming out next month and F-Zero is teh own!!!

I wouldn't get an XBOX. Although, thats more of my hatred towards MS :) I really want to play Shenmue 2 for Xbox tho. The first one was great for DC.

I have a Gamecube. I love it for the standout games (metroid prime, eternal darkness, zelda), but I am personally disappointed with the multiplayer games. I personally don't like smash bros. melee. I am waiting for soul calibur 2 which looks like it will be a good fighting game.

I asked that question myself a few months ago, and ended up buying a GC. I wanted to play Zelda, Metroid, Pikmin and Mario, plus the price had dropped to $150 plus a free game. For reference, I like "cute" games but I also think nothing is more satisfying than sniping players in the head in a multiplayer game.

Zelda alone was worth the price of admission. I haven't really played Metroid yet (saving the "best" for last :)), and I'm working on Mario now. I still have the Dinosaur Valley song from Starfox Adventures going through my head, and I finished that game weeks ago. I like Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters fighting game, 'cuz, well, Godzilla rules! I picked up Eternal Darkness, but haven't played it at all. Clive Barker's Undying (PC game) pretty much ruined all "scary" games for me 'cuz that game seriously freaked me out.

I really haven't experienced Xbox or PS2 graphics outside of Best Buy, but the GC stuff is pretty good. Most of the games I have say they support some high resolution mode (which my old TV doesn't support :(). The GC is really small and durable, and therefore portable.

However, I am worried that the platform may have a short life. Lately it seems that there just aren't that many games on sale for it anymore. Nintendo has claimed that they will stand by their platform (unlike Sega and the Dreamcast), but you never know. (Does anyone else remember "Apple 2 forever!"?)

I may get a PS2 sometime soon, 'cuz I want to play anime RPG's, and there's like only one for the GC. On the other hand, I'd also like to play Halo (SOMEDAY DARN IT!) and Panzer Dragoon Orta.

And I just ordered a Radeon 9800...

I can't believe no one has mentioned Gran Turismo 4.

That and some of the other great titles that were mentioned are worth the price of admission alone. Also, don't forget that EA Sports games are only online with the PS2.

for me, only reason i accepted ps2 was because of GT3.

and i cant wait for upcoming GT4!

It will come with new gt4 special wheel from logitech with 270 spin :)

but the wheel will cost $150 and im sure the game will cost $50 ...

i wonder if they'll do any speical combo thingie
