I searched and haven't seen this thread already started. I am in the market for a current gaming console. Which do you personally recommend? PS/2, Xbox or Game Cube?
 
If you're looking for selection, then deffinately go for a PS2. There are gobs of games out for it now, and a bunch of them are going for $20 new. The Gamecube (which I have) has some good games, but the library isn't anywhere near the size of the PS2. The X-box I have no experience with, so I can't really say anything about it.

MY vote is for X-box.

I have an X-box and a Game cube. I use the X-box way more than I use the Game Cube.
 
I've got all 3 Consoles. My vote goes to PS2 because of all the games it has. Although its unfair because I've only had the Xbox for a week and no money to buy new games.
 
Go with the PS2 if you are looking for a good selection of mediocre games with some good ones. (Worst graphics of all three)

Go with the Xbox (most powerful of all three)if you are looking for some great games with great graphics with the best online play out. Not the biggest selection out there, but that is slowly changing.

Go with the Gamecube if you are looking for alot of kids games with some Adult ones in there. (Worst online plan)

every time that this question is asked it always comes to the same conclusion regardless of the systems being compared. it depends on what you want to play and how much you want to spend. me i'd buy the PS2 but but i love final fantasy games and othe RPG's.

July 15, 2003 - Sources report that Rockstar's mega-money maker Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will be coming to the Xbox, possibly as soon as this holiday season.
As many insiders know, the Grand Theft Auto series is supposed to be PlayStation 2 console exclusive, however sources reveal that Rockstar is circumventing the agreement by stripping the Xbox version of the title Grand Theft Auto, and simply repackaging the game as Vice City.

Back in May, Take Two's CEO Jeffrey Lapin spoke about a major Rockstar title in development for the Xbox during the company's quarterly conference call with analysts. "We said that there will be an Xbox SKU from Rockstar in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2004 [Nov. to Jan.]," Lapin said, "but we're not going to comment on what it is at this point." It now looks like Vice City is that game.

Vice City's gameplay will be identical to the PC version that recently shipped, and might also include additional features like custom soundtracks and downloadable content.

i got an xbox first and that is still my top choice currently... i recently added a gamecube b/c of the exclusive classics it has that i couldn't go without... that being said, if ur just lookin for one console right now, i would say Xbox... while the PS2 has more games, that doesn't make them better; xbox has plenty to choose from, plenty... me, i just can't stand inferior technology
 
Vice City was the only thing separating Xbox and PS2 for me...Xbox has the edge after it comes out later this year

And the prostitue sex thing is a bonus too!
 
Don't listen to what these Xbox fanboys say. Get a GameCube with Metroid Prime and Zelda: Wind Waker and enjoy pure gaming at it's greatest.
