Agreed, if I'm a developer, I develop for both, as well as PC. The gap in development isn't what it was when they 3 main gaming platforms were on different CPU architectures.

Then again, if I was an app developer, nothing would convince me to develop for iOS, just because I dislike it so much, so unless a developer is spiteful towards Sony or Microsoft (obviously, the latter would be more likely), you'll see the major third-party stuff going to both. So, if that's why the poll was made, it's a stupid reason.

from personal experience, i've made 6-7 times more money on my iOS apps than Android apps. you would be pretty dumb to make apps for android and not iOS if your goal is to make money.

Destiny on PS4/PS3 gets an exclusive strike mission for a year and a crucible map as well as access to special upgraded armor for each class, 2 special weapons, and 3 special ships.

And you just sold me the ps4. Was only aware of the timed firestrike/crucible thing and as not a huge PvP player that wasn't a selling point for me. But pve swag. Sign me up. Guess xbone waits until sunset now.

Xbox One and WiiU of the current consoles. I'll eventually get a PS4, but both the Xbox One and PS4 seem behind their previous generation's consoles in exclusive titles at this point in their lifespan not giving much incentive to buy yet.

If I made an app, it would likely be because I want some sort of functionality on my phone that I don't have (for example: I've considered learning how to build a Yahoo fantasy app on Windows Phone because there's only one on the platform and it sucks). I wouldn't build an app for monetary purposes, most likely.

Regardless, monetary gains wouldn't be enough for me to want to learn iOS app development, or publish on that platform, just because I don't like it. I'm a stupid, stupid person when it comes to my spite, and I freely admit it.

Well heh...join our AT clan for Destiny. I am hoping people get far enough along that we can try some of the strikes and raids that are above the level cap. For example, the level cap is 20 but there are strikes with difficulty settings that push them to lv30.

To answer all the posts directed at me, look at my original post please. I put the poll up to satisfy my own curiousity.

If you're a developer, what system would you develop exclusives for? A system that sells a million units a month or one that sells 500,000 a month? That's a no brainer, bigger database of users = more potential profits for you. Assuming there any good exclusives come out, my decision on a system is partially based on this.

The whole "Personaly" thing I posted is avoid crap posts by fan boys who only pipe in to start flame wars.

Anyway, my question has been answered. If a mod could close this thread before it gets out of hand I'd appreciate it.

...but...why the quotes?

The Xbone will not fall behind in cross platform games, it's not WiiU status.

Chances are even the Wii U would be getting a decent amount of third-party games if it wasn't so different architecturally from the other two consoles. The GameCube got a pretty decent amount of multiplatform releases early on, until the developers started running out of room on its Mini-DVD discs, so developers probably aren't going to be too opposed to publishing on Nintendo if doing so's quick and easy.

In fact, I can't help but think that Nintendo would have been better off just grabbing an off-the-shelf Trinity APU and slapping it in the Wii U. It'd have been powerful enough to emulate the original Wii in software, much easier to port PS4 and Xbox One games to, and hell, probably even more powerful than the Frankenstein-esque configuration they ended up using.

If you had to choose strictly one to develop for, the PS4 would be the best choice, as it has sold the most units). However, there is really not a reason to limit yourself with that. If resources are strained, it is best to develop for the Xbox One and simply port it to the PS4 (mostly, because of the power difference, it is expected anything that can run at your target res / fps on the weaker console will perform at least that on the more powerful console).

I said develop 'Exclusives'..... For regular games, of course you would develop for both systems.

If you're going to develop an exclusive, you develop for whichever company pays you more to do it... Otherwise, there is zero benefit. If Sony or MS won't put up the money or resources to keep it exclusive, you develop it for both (and PC, if you're smart).

To direct attention to what you actually own, and avoid opinions on what you don't have and haven't experienced

hah i applaud the effort for at least trying to explain it, but it still makes no sense!

and it appears that the 'personally' didn't hold people back from what you were attempting to do.

I'll be upfront and say my interest for online MP is rather low. I'm an old school gamer where I prefer the in your face experience of gaming (Why Nintendo will always have a spot on my shelves).

Something about coordinating stuff over a mic, and high-fiving the air seems empty. Even my MMO days require the GF to be playing with me. When she can't play I find myself bored and just screwing around.

Well after the story is finished, the only stuff left to do that will always give you good loot are strikes and raids. Strikes will use matchmaking to group you but raids won't.

I enjoyed the game as a solo wolf, and I understand I was doing it wrong haha. Who knows, if the content is fun and with the right group, perhaps I'd give it a shot, but as of right now it isn't on my "to do" list.

Don't use quotation marks for emphasis. It looks like sarcasm.

When I see

I totally think you are asking about what consoles I don't actually own.

But at least this thread got underway pretty well with only minor confusion at the beginning.

I have consolidated my game systems into a collective fund and have sold out part ownership of them. I no longer personally own my Xbox One. While, I still have a majority stake in it, I only own 51%.
