Volvo V50 wagon with a 6 speed.
Small yawn.

A step "down" from my S4 Avant, but I'm ready for a change. And it beats a minivan or SUV for the family!

I just got the car I wanted this weekend. 2010 Subaru Outback 3.6R.

Nice. The more I hear about Subarus the more I like them. AWD and fairly reasonably priced. However 2010 Outback was somewhat of a disappointment IMO. The styling is off, and it is now more of a cross over SUV rather than a wagon. Much larger and according to reviews it doesn't handle like sedan anymore. Still a nice car if that's what you're looking for.

S4, RS4, or M6/M5...6 speed. By the time I want one (3-4 years) I should be able to pay for it in cash....til then, my B7 A4 is sufficient :)

Suby Imprezza hatch, Mazda 3 hatch, or any other nice 4-door hatch... pending their redesigns. (which is awhiles away) My current car ('07 Mazda 3s sedan) is still "new" with almost 4 years of ownership, and 50k miles on the odo. I want to keep it until at least 200k miles :p. I hope by then, I could afford a larger home w/ no friggin hoa fees this time grrr.. then after the newer home, get a new car. I plan on getting a bike soon (first a ninja250, then evolve to a sv650, or some other naked bike) to split the miles w/ my mazda 3. I hope my financial plan to split fun + future will work out in that sense :p

Although, people have been telling me that my commute, which involves about 15 miles of freeway, a 250cc ninja would actually be dangerous since I wouldn't be able to accelerate fast enough to make a pass. I rarely drive past 75 mph on my car anyways (except for my excursions to LA.. I live in SD).

My dream:
A home w/ a garage big enough to fit 3 cars. Two of them will be an E30, and '92 MR2.. my dream cars of my childhood. 3rd will just be some utility daily driver that can go up to the mountains and carry lots of gear (a hatch :p).

The SV650 is a good starter bike, why a 250 at all ???

I've never driven a manual car ever. I think a 250 would be a safer starter bike for me. But I've been getting numerous pros/cons about that.

I've also considered Aprilia Shiver, and the Triumph Street Triple (note, not speed triple.. I don't think I'll ever get a bike closer to 900+ cc's. That's just impractical for my tastes hehehe).

But before all this, I have a rider safety course lined up with my buddies, and I can go on from there. I will never hop onto a bike until I'm finished with the rider course (and anymore refresher courses if needed) and get a license.

Oh, and before I get lynched as to why I would get a bike when I have a car payment... I have no car payment. It's been paid off, so why not get a bike to split the miles? I think, for me to want to keep the car until 200k+ miles until my next huge financial burden (a larger house w/ no effin' hoa), it's a solid decision.

Undecided at the moment...

Maybe an E92 M3 or E60 M5? The M5 is a beast but it's heavy...as I like a more agile car and the E46 M3 fitted that better and it was half the price! I'll see where I am.

Yes,

Hint: The picture is a link, and I was drunk last night when I did that. Sorry for the thread derailment.

Either a new Forester or new Focus hatchback. It'll be a year or two before I can get one, so I'll have no problem waiting for the new Focus to come out. I'll have to see what the Z-Plan prices are for the Focus as well.

I'm thinking an '09 or '10 Escape Limited, or a '08-09 CRV EX-L (no Nav) as a replacement for my Jeep.

I have an '06 Forester 2.5XT and I love how it's a well-rounded vehicle. Practical, great in snow and fast. And it doesn't attract attention from cops and rev-happy Civic drivers. There's not much out there I want to replace it with but I do know I want to move up to luxury for my next vehicle. I have looked at an Acura RDX, Volvo XC60 and Audi Q5. The upcoming BMW X1 and X3 are on the list too.

The older Outbacks didn't actually handle like sedans either, you can't have 9" of ground clearance plus a long travel suspension and feel like a sedan. The new one is floaty'er than the old model (but has even more ground clearance than the old one did ), but it's not the "huuuuuuge" difference like it's made out to be. Some people just like to whine whenever an old favorite gets changed.
It is a lot bigger than the old model which pushes it firmly into SUV territory size-wise which can be a turn-off to a lot of folks, but their sales are up, so Subaru will be happy with the changes they made.

So far I am loving the bigger flat6 engine. It has got so much more power than my previous 06 Forester.

It changes every week...but my current obsession is the Z06 Carbon. If the RS5 ever makes it to our shores...that will probably fascinate me for months.

Edit: I should point out that my wife would never let me buy either of these as they are out of our reach if we're being financially responsible. A more likely purchase if it is just for me would be an 3 Series, A5, or G37 with a manual. If I were single...maybe one of the two above.

Honda CR-Z for a commuter car.. Nissan GTR for my next project car. I'm not even halfway where I want to be with my Evo X right now.. so that may be a ways down the road.

Thanks for the tips on the MR2, I'll be sure to check them out when the time comes. To be honest, I am not certain that lack of power is a problem for me with the MX-5; as long as it is fun to drive. From what I've been told, it is fun to drive at the limit, and the limit is easily achievable given the low power. Sounds weird, but it makes sense to me.

I'd like to build an electric car out of a Del-Sol.

I'd like to have a '68 or '69 Barracuda convertible.

I'd like to have a Dodge Ram 2500 quad cab 4x4 with a diesel.

But for now I'm happy with my paid-for Saturn!
