I want a roadster, but also something that I can wrench on without putting me in the poorhouse, so it's looking like a MX-5 / Miata for me.

I want to get the APR Stage 1 03 Octane program for my Passat 2.0T but I am too cheap and don't want to mess with my commuter car. I would absolutely do it if I had a backup ride.

Wife is next in line for a car. Lots of snow in North Central Ohio winters, and she is short and has the gotta be up high to see syndrome, so probably a forester. She has a '97 S-10 now, but now that we have a kid that is no good. We'll keep the S-10, though, as it spent most of its life in AZ, CA, and TX. Also, she requires an automatic :( although she can drive a stick. She just hates looking bad in front of others so she refuses to practice. I'd give her hell about it if I was perfect, but that is not the case.

My next commuter will likely be a GTI.

Audi RS5 ideally in like 15 years, I want to make my TDI last at the very minimum 12 years or so.

I don't plan on getting rid of my G35. I do have a few cars I want to get though..

Mid-90s Miata for autox/track usage.
'72 or '73 240Z as a project.
Also will need a truck sometime..

I guess first I need to buy a home with a multi-car garage.

MK6 Golf TDI. I drive a lot of miles and my 26ish MPG isn't cutting it

Dodge Challenger SRT-8 with a 6-Speed Manual Tremec Transmission.

Or, 2011 Ford Shelby GT350 5.0L/550-hp/490-lb-ft supercharged DOHC 32-valve V-8 with6-speed manual transmission.

Neither are practiclal, but as long as we are dreaming...

i think i screwed myself over getting a 05 G35x. it pretty much kills all the excuses i can use to get another car, But i dont plan on getting another DD unless i'm forced to replace the G. My only dislike is the 17-18mpg i'm getting. I wished it was in the 20-21mpg.

I'm looking at cheaper cars in the 2k range. mainly early 90's miata, NA mr2 SW20 and SC300's as summer cars to keep the miles off the G.

If i can get rid of the G, most likely i would aim at a mk5/mk6 DSG GTi as i really want a HATCH. Or Play a little shuffling up and get a c5 vette and a DD winter beater.

Do the APR flash. Trust me. Makes my '02 Passat much more fun to drive. It is my daily as well and the flash won't do anything to put your car out of order. If it won't work you'll know at the APR dealer.

My inner redneck really wants a Challenger and he really wants to drive it like he stole it. Tragically, his isn't the voice that makes my car buying decisions.

Already have what I want that is within my budget. Wouldn't mind getting a CTS coupe at some point in the future.

A Trailblazer 4x4. Planning on getting one this spring or summer, when the prices on them come back down (and I have more money saved up). They got more expensive over the winter again.

I need a vehicle for winter, people/equipment hauling, stuff like that. My Camaro doesn't fair too well in the winter anymore (they're getting to be too harsh and snowy) and it just doesn't have the capacity for carrying stuff around.

MR2 Turbo! Mid engine, way more power, less common than Miatas, and 3s/5s parts are dime a dozen.

Seconded!

I drove my dad's Miata ('03, I think)..it's pleasant to drive, but after my MR2 the lack of power was quite evident.

I've been in test driving mode for awhile, and I'm starting to realize my needs are changing from what they have been. I can no longer get away with a two seater with a non existent trunk. So my next car will most likely have a pair of back seats (no matter how small) and some kind of trunk. The gets rid of the few I had been looking at before, also the new building I live in doesn't have the space for the Raptor.

So fast, four doors, reasonable trunk, and a relatively open price range. I'll be buying after summer, new or low-mid mileage used depending on the deal.

GT-R, CTS-V, Porsche 911 derivative, one of the Mercedes TT V12 cars... There's a few that fall in that category.

Seconded!

Thirded, my roommate's was bad ass.
