I had a 2002 Mazda 5, till I got hit by a V10 Econoline at 10 MPH and my entire front end disintegrated. Those little asian cars might seem nice and efficient, until you get hit.

Now I have a 2003 chevy S10 three-door. The interior isnt nearly as nice and the thing is a gas hog, but I want to at least survive a minor accident.

No vehicle manufacturer can repeal the laws of physics. Bigass Van is going to crush Small Car, regardless of marque. The entire front end disintegrating is what saves your life. The car absorbs the impact as opposed to your face.

Aside - My guess is the car was a Mazda Protege5, not a Mazda5 or MX-5.

Anywho, the designs are all asian. Just like american designed cars are made in mexico or somewhere else or at least get all their parts from germany.
😕
My post explains all Mazda's?
Are you one of those that decides on a whole brand by your experience with one car?
It does not explain all mazdas. I dont know where you got that cuz I didnt say it. I also dont know where you got me deciding a whole brand because of one car, cuz I didnt say anything like that either.
(I guess nowadays its better to just assume rather than ask questions.)
It was more a reference to my buddy, but I dont feel like telling long, drawn-out stories this morning, so I'll save it for another day.

As for M4H, I respect your opinion but its utter bunk. The car disintegrating did not save my life. The air bags didnt even deploy, which makes me question Mazdas safety design a little.
My life was saved by only being hit at 10 miles per hour. Had it been anything more who know if I would be here today, annoying the crap out of you.

At any rate, I decided to get something that I could just pount the dents out of. (Grammar?)
It wont help if I get hit by a semi, but I'm still working on that problem.

2001 VW Jetta GLX

... and am going to Carmax today after work to check out a 2004 VW R32 on the lot. If it's in good condition, I will be picking it up 🙂

Depends on the day... usually the 04 Chrysler Sebring sedan, but sometimes I'll take the 90 Volvo 740 Turbo. On nice days when it's not windy, I'll take the 73 VW Bus. Once I get tires, I'll throw the 73 Super Beetle in the rotation as well.

The Rustbucket A.K.A. a '98 Dodge Dakota. Oh well, enough of the vehicle has been replaced by now, should hardly be any more rust underneath.

I'm trying to get convince myself and Lola to buy one of these: 😀

A Factory Five Cobra is my realistic dream car. I hope to start building mine in a few years.

If I misunderstood you, I apologize. Where I got that from was you said...

To me, that sounded like you were making a judgement on all Mazda's...

🙂

Fun only: '76 914; '73 911 front suspension, 16" forged Fuchs alloys, freshly rebuilt engine.

Fun/2nd car: '86 951; '89 951S turbo, mechanical boost control @ 15 PSI, Autothority Stage I chip.

Primary: '06 Mustang GT; stock.

So I'm a little obsessed...

It's hard to find good 5.0s for decent money anymore. Either they are $1000 junkers or the seller wants $8,000 for them.

And I dont like the 4.6 🙁

Mine is more realistic, it's cheaper and I can pay for it slowly as I collect parts and such.

As much as I love the 944, the fact is that every 944 N/A prior to the S2 was decidedly not fast. Spec for an '83 is around 8.6 seconds. It's definitely not the car for drag racing and never was meant to be.
