here are some suggestions...

-Heart of Darkness by conrad.
-complete short stories of hemingway.
-junkie by William S. Burroughs (this was his first published book. excellent read.)
-anything by james joyce...portrait of an artist as a young man...
-to the lighthouse by virgina wolff.

I found out that someone had already taken Catch 22 and I wouldn't read Brave new world again, not unless someone gave me a GF3 in return for reading it.

Right now I picked Pride and Prejudice, but I will probably switch -- doesnt really sound like my kinda novel...

You could try the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever, by Stephen R Donaldson. Some very interesting discussions on the nature of innocence.
 
TheVrolok: It's not by the same author, but definately a good read. It's short too, so it won't take too long to read.
