I had a Haro Invert, was a cool bike but I outgrew it quickly, still have it to this day and my oldest son now rides it.

To the OP: I assure you a Huffy Vortex, or any Huffy ever built for that matter, was never, EVER a "BMW of BMX"

My dad first bought my brother and I those football team bikes they used to have at Sears in the 70s...probably about 76ish or so.

We fucked them up good just the first day, so they went back and off to Schwinn (when Schwinn was the bike everyone wanted) for a couple Phantoms.

They were build like tanks.

Later one we got a couple of beach cruisers to drive around, my brother went back to BMX in a Hutch and I started sport fucking super models.

I then bought a Marin Bear Valley SE in 1993 to replace my Mustang GT when I went off to University of Florida.

Any of you bikers, not heard of pricepoint.com; check it out.

I swept up at a auto dealer and did odd jobs for a year to save enough for my first diamondback. The diamondback was stolen-funny so many here had the same issues-and a awesome uncle who was Mayor Daley's personal butcher bought me a Kuwahara after I worked at his butcher shop for a few weeks.

Sorry to the huffy guys....your Kmart-big lots junk was laughable at best...

to a kid who got a new Huffy Vortex, it sure as hell felt like it at the time. Leave me alone.

:D

fair enough.

I now remember that the only reason one would purchase a Huffy was for the lessened chance that it would get stolen.

Me either. Schwinn Sting-Ray was the "cool kids bike," but anyone who was serious about riding had a 10 speed...:p

There was always one dork in the neighborhood who tried to ride on the trails and jumps like we were. He only got in the way. Everybody hated that guy.

No matter what neighborhood or trails you went to, there was the 10 speed guy and he changed from location to location. In fact, this is where the term "that guy" came from. It used to be "that damn 10 speed guy" but was shortened to "that guy".

hat being said I never rode a bike anywhere so it was a waste of time and money for me.

Wow, there's a shock. We didn't see that coming from a million miles away, did we?
