Oh you don't want to know.

In a nutshell, never, never order any products with an exclusive rebate offer from them. Don't ever order something from them if you have a choice to order elsewhere with reasonable pricing. TigerDirect has the worst customer service. Lastly, avoid ordering retail products from them, as you may receive a misrepresented product.

The best I got from them was an OEM CPU. I was sure lucky after reading the misfortune of others. But I still have other issues with them. Unlike most people, I won't let them rest until the matter is resolved. I should be writing a legal letter to them this month.

I'd assume that AT has a staff of dedicated sales people who end up handling all of this...the banners and text in the posts most certainly comes from Tiger though.
. . .

Seems like the sales staff focused on the bizrate and pricegrabber ratings more than resellerratings, BBB reports or the AT user ratings. *note for the future*

</my somewhat uneducated opinion>

Bizrate rates them pretty bad also.

Anyone else?

Now that we have our own Tiger Direct 'Bot, perhaps things will be different in future. The following post is taken from Hot Deals:

To all that got in on this great deal:

1) The response was overwhelming - thanks!
2) We shipped out all that were in stock
3) The vendor (i/o Data) is shipping more to Tiger
4) All orders will be filled
5) All rebates will be honored

These are the facts. If anyone has any problem at all with their order - please do not hesitate to contact me directly & I will ensure that you are taken care of personally.

Thanks again!

Tiger Direct, and mostly Mr Matthews sicken me.

Isn't it against AT policy to have duplicate accounts Magicbrillo? (AKA TigerDirectDeals) Proof HERE.

Also, a quick search of archived message for user "MagicBrillo" will find he also pimped TIger Direct on many occasions, ANOTHER violation of the forum rules. He even acts like he doesn't work there, Here's one example. You have the credibility of a fresh turd, sir (term used loosely), and you NOT visiting here again, would be the best thing you can do for your sleazy employer. You CANNOT defend yourself, you are a lying pice of trash. GO AWAY!

I was offered a job @ TigerDirect.. A laughed in their face.

The real litmus test will be if Anand takes theur money again after such an uproar..

Bought PC100 RAM once...I don't remember if the price was reasonable, but I do know the stick came the very next day.

I bought a cheap digital camera there as a present (for a kid). Camera came within 2 days after ordering and I was pretty impressed with that.

Well, for what its worth, I used to buy often from Tiger Direct, about three - four years ago. I've probably dropped more than $5,000 through them over a dozen or so different orders. In the last year, I've ordered from them only two or three times, because their prices aren't all that great. I've never had a complaint.

They even helped me resolve a problem I had, when Airborne Express delivered a complete computer system I had ordered through TD, the guy left it in the hallway when I wasn't home. It wasn't there when I got back!

About a year ago, I placed an order and paid by money order. For some reason, I was a couple bucks short of the actual total cost. Tiger Direct shipped it anyway along with a note politely informing me that I was $x.xx short and asking would I please send it. Now, mind you, I had paid by money order and so it was very possible that I would never send the balance due, but they didn't want to hold the order up because it was close to Christmas. Not many companies would have done that.

From what I understand, Tiger has went downhill since they were acquired or merged with Insight or whatever.

Just curious...when ordering from TD, is there a place for someone to type in "I am an Anandtech power user"? I was just wondering how he knows that AT power users are/were TD's best customers.

My take on this:

If you need something cheap and quick, TigerDirect can supply it satisfactorily. The problems arise if service is needed - a return or RMA for example.

If Tiger was more forthcoming - if they even acknowledged their past errors and committed themselves to upholding current & future customer service - they would be perceived more credibly. As it is, their silence on BBB's serious allegations tend to comfirm them.

Thanks for responding!

I want to assure you that every single customer complaint is fully investigated and not only do we make every reasonable effort to resolve the issue to the customers satisfaction but we also proactively take steps to prevent that same issue from causing future complaints.

I would like extend my personal apology if we have let you down in any way. Tigerdirect would like an opportunity to prove to you our commitment to customer satisfaction and earn your business.

There we go with smooth talking.

I'll believe the reps of TigerDirect when next I call for Lydia and don't get a run around. I'll believe the reps of TigerDirect when next I leave a message for Lydia and do get my call returned. I'll believe the reps of TigerDirect when next TigerDirect does not engage in false advertising. I'll believe the reps of TigerDirect when next what I get is exactly what was advertised and what I paid for. Don't even bother offering to take care of my case. I know how to deal with TigerDirect, as writing and legal notes is all that works for them.
