Saving for a house. I am tired of living with relatives. I am also saving for my retirement/health insurance later in life. My mother had many complications when she got older, and didn't get the highest quality care because we lacked money. I am not going to let that happen to my family. Since you get the best return by starting early, I have lots of different savings/investing accounts accruing since my mid-20's.

Saving about $1000/month for a house. I have no liabilities at the moment, I own my car and have a steady job so I should be able to make a nice 20-25% downpayment in the next couple years.

Let's see, the wife wants a $320K house in a better part of town, then in six years she wants me to retire and move to Arizona or Nevada.

It would be cheaper to get a new wife, if she wasn't making half of the money.
