Jedi: Survivor is a train wreck in optimization.

LOL... 21GB memory used my 4090... jibus.... you 16GB cards prepare to cry.

There's a post on the PS5 subreddit saying it will be receiving patches for several weeks to resolve issues. Why not just delay it until then?

I guess they don't want to compete in release with Zelda. I haven't installed it yet but I have it ready on origin. Are you running 4k max settings?

Elden Ring is awesome, no doubt about it. When you do come back to it I guarantee you still have MANY things you haven't seen yet unless you followed a guide through the whole way. Did you:

Find the ulcerated tree spirit in Stormveil Castle?
Collect all nine deathroots?
Complete all six endings?
Kill all of the deathbirds, death right birds and night's cavalry?
Find the way to the Haligtree and defeat Malenia?
Save Fia while still completing her quest?

Elden Ring is packed full of amazingness. I can't wait for the DLC!
Oh well of course, there's a TON of side stuff and secrets and alternate paths and things I didn't see, no way to see all that in one play through.

I meant more there aren't any additional lands and areas to explore. Which for me is the real fun and pleasure of the game: new areas, architecture, items, and of course, monsters to find. When the DLC comes out I will surely be back in it Day One.

Lawd Jebus still playing Witcher 3 and Hogwarts. I dunno what I was thinking firing up two open world games at the same time with my sort of playtime constraints.

W3: Almost done with Skellige I think.
I spent 160 hours in this game, spread over several months. I actually found the base game kind of overrated and forgettable (except for the Baron questline), but the DLCs are both fantastic. Gaunter is one of the best villains in any game or movie.

-Prepping for the defense of Kaer Mohren. Think I'll take a hiatus from the game after the main questline and play something else, then come back to HoS cause this is awesome but its soooo much in one go.

Its been hard lately to have the energy to play any games so I am kind of looking for something that requires almost no brain power. I have kind of devolved into watching old tv reruns and browsing the web instead of gaming. When I do manage to play I have been playing:
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
    • Working on 2nd 100% playthrough and was trying to be more strict this time around as far as doing everything I possibly could prior to a single story mission, but have burned out in chapter 6.
  • Doom Eternal
    • I'm OCD so I want to get 100% on each level of campaign so I am constantly starting and pausing YouTube guides on the 2nd monitor and playing on ultra nightmare so dying constantly during encounters so its exhausting.
  • Cyberpunk 2077
    • Trying to min max on first playthrough and do all the side stuff before story really. Its so repetitive that I can barely handle one or maybe two police quests before I log out mentally exhausted. The game looks good, but unless you are doing story missions its soul killing
  • Subnautica Below Zero
    • Nothing bad to say here, its pretty good
  • Sea of Thieves
    • I only log in to set fire to the ship, through treasure secretly off the side or just play the instruments, but least it requires no thought.

I finished this recently too, another 100-ish hour game. It has the best story and atmosphere of any game I've seen in the last 10 years, as well as the best outdoor graphics, while the gameplay is slow paced and simplistic. I still liked it a lot, especially since the wild west setting is very rare in games.

Its kind of obscure, but I'm trying to work up courage to get a fusion plant online again via gregtech 4 in minecraft 1.6.4 in TPPI. That is my all time fav pack. Its hard to do single player without chat to keep you going lol.

RDR2 is a very strange game for me. I'll tell you why.

I absolutely love the storytelling, motif, and art direction. It is peak single-player immersion of what it's like to bandit in last days of wild wild west.

But... I don't know. I find the gameplay / gunplay quite boring. Only if it had a solid gunplay. Fighting scenes just became a chore. I don't think I actually beat it. I kind of stopped towards the very very end (after coming back from that tropical island).

Man that sounds like a torture. You're like me when I was younger.

Just try not doing this and enjoy for what it is.

And don't play Elden Ring. You'll go nuts thanks to the entire game being filled with secrets. You can't even enter a single building without doing a complete 360 of it before entering it (a popular Elden Ring meme).

I agree, the gameplay does feel slow and tedious. Not just the combat, which is reasonably fun, but just going around between places, using the horse, etc. is very slow and deliberate. I played it a few hours per day for 3 months.

It's a Rockstar game so the fighting is going to be pretty standard which is why they went overboard on everything else. If the atmosphere was yet another bland city-scape it would have never received half the accolades it did.

Playing Deathloop again. I keep coming back every few months, play for a few weeks, get bored. Repeat. The game just becomes a bit too repetitive since you just keep going to the same 4 areas over and over. Decent game, but I really don't know how it got such high review scores. I would give it a 7. The multiplayer is just annoying, I turn it off most of the time.

-Its a shame I'd really like a good western game, but really not made by Rockstar.

It'd be great if we got something like Mass Effect, or Witcher 2/3 but set in the wild west.

Currently just kind of filling time with not too story-driven, deep dive kind of games as I'm waiting for Tears of the Kingdom next week to really dive into for the next several dozen hours.

As far PC games go though, I'm finishing up the "Destination" missions in Hitman 2. Having a blast there. Then will start Hitman 3 once that's complete. Also having fun goofing around with Ready or Not. Still has some issues and bugs here and there. AI is not the best, although funnily enough the enemy AI seems to have improved, it's my team that seems content to stand around while I open a door and someone caps off 50 rounds at my face, while they casually glance over to me. Thanks guys. No really. I wouldn't want you to break a nail or anything.

Finished RE 4 Remake. I would say this game was a 10/10 for me and I played maybe 1hr of the original.

I really enjoyed the more action orientated gameplay. I wasn't on edge trying to find ammo or running out of resources, was not being chased by some crazy prototype enemy so I could explore areas as I went through them.

The story is basic resident evil shenanigans as usual but the ability to parry, dodge, and dropkick or backdrop throw enemies makes it a lot of fun and even better once you upgrade a weapon all the way.

I would play through it again with a different set of weapons but it's a bit too long to go through it a second time immediately.

I guess now I can go finish dead space remake while I wait for Star Wars Jedi survivor to get patched some more.

I also started dead island 2 on PS5 and I'm having a fun time with that game too not having played the first two titles.

Yes, this game starts off well but gets stale quickly. Even among the four levels, only Updaam is interesting to explore. I had fun with it but it's nowhere near as good as Dishonored or Prey.

Fired up my Switch for the first time in months for Tears of the Kingdom, and gotta say it looks rough after getting used to playing 1440p60 on PS5 and PC with a 6700 XT. Feels like I'm playing a PS3 game or something between the framerate and resolution, looks like 720p with some pretty low res textures. Wonder if any of that'll be fixed by a Day 1 patch. Though I never played BOTW on original hardware, played it on Cemu. Really wish we had gotten that Switch Pro that Bloomberg kept reporting.

- And now with Redfall getting absolutely dragged through the mud I'm thinking Arkane Studios has been hollowed out much like Bioware was. Two duds in a row generally spells serious trouble at a dev studio nowadays.

Did anyone honestly have high hopes for Redfall? I watched some trailers and it honestly looked like a bland spinoff game from 2010.

It looked pretty meh, but Prey is pretty awesome, so I had hoped it would be decent. Will probably give it a try after they fix the major issues.

Just completed the main quest in W3 (as well as all the contracts and most of the sidequests).

Guys, this game is a ****ing masterpiece.

Its not necessarily a "deep" game. The actual RPG mechanics and combat are fairly shallow. But GOD DAMN this game is cinematic, its immersive, its grimdark as **** (in like the most slavic way possible), its rich on lore, and it knows how to present its main cast in an incredible light. Go in understanding what you're getting and it will be one of the most rewarding gameplay experiences of your life.

Easily one of the best games of all time and worthy of a "Flawed Masterpiece" award if there ever was one.

I am going to count Hearts of Stone as well as Blood and Wine as their own games given the breadth of content available there.

I think I ultimately got the "Witcher" ending for Ciri, with her basically joining Geralt for a life of Witchering after the main game was complete. Maybe not the best outcome for the world, but by far the best outcome for Geralt and Ciri and I am happy.
