I've had in mind replaying Dishonored 1 for a long time. I originally played it on an old card for the time (GTX 280) and had to turn down many settings.
I think the visuals still hold up today thanks to the art style. It's not stunning but still looks very good for a nearly 14 year old title. I actually had a lot of fun with it on my replay, and it's one of those games you can get through in a reasonable amount of time, even if you want to do some of the extra objectives and collectibles etc. I think the follow up is great too, but there's something I like more about the OG.

Be great if we got a third entry in another region, but I think Arkane's got it on ice. Speaking of, there is lore out there that suggests a third title would take place in the northernmost part of the Isles map. I forget the name of the province, but I think it's loosely tied to where Deathloop takes place--or something like that. I thought I remembered reading about it some time ago.

Getting super bored with Spiderman Miles Morales. Loved the combat and the speed of traversal in Spiderman 2018 but this just feels like the same game except it's Christmas instead of summer in NYC. It's spectacular graphically with amazing RT reflections and I'm far enough in the game I want to finish it but I'm also not too motivated to play it, as the storyline of Miles, Ganki, and Phin isn't doing much for me. On the other hand my 7 yo nephew goes nuts playing every time he comes over, but he hasn't played the virtually identical Spiderman 2018.
I see what you did there.

The stories get progressively worse as the series goes on IMO. I am far removed from the target audience though.

On game play: Miles feels more OP to play than Pete, as the game goes on. I like the enemy classes a little more in MM too.

On graphics: Coney Island in Spider-Man 2 is a night level, and it has the best visuals of the series so far, IMO. They also upped the ante on the inside of rooms you see through windows of buildings. Adds a bit more immersion.

This is my favorite series for testing CPUs. I end up playing a few hours just to swing around and throw down. I will never get tired of how good the swinging mechanics are. I remember playing Spidey 2 on OG Xbox and how stoked I was to web-sling. All these years later, it is still fun.

As to what I'm playing: Another play through of Shadow of Mordor. Up next is the sequel. Nemesis system is addictive. I laugh sometimes when a captain smack talks me, and suddenly another captain I already killed will show up with a big iron plate riveted over half their head or something and call me out for leaving them FUBAR.

-Shame em till they're blubbering and unhinged, then dominate them, then beat them till they rebel, then shame em again.

Speaking of UE5, I recently had a quick romp through ROUTINE, which released back in December after a troubled development (and re-development) cycle. While the atmosphere, environments, and suspense are great (think Alien Isolation x Observation) it is very short--under 5 to 6 hours if you are efficient at solving puzzles. At only around $20 on Steam, and I suppose it's worth that being a AA title, but I was hoping something at least 10-15hrs. Still, it's a decent time if anyone is looking to kill several hours and you don't mind a little claustrophobic space horror. Mild spoilers below:
  • Game has minimal UI elements, most of the menus are in-game displayed on surfaces
  • Player movement feels under-cooked; not my favorite control scheme
  • There's only two types of enemies you interact with throughout the entire game
  • Some of the puzzles are randomized on each play through, so you can't refer to guides (annoying if you're really stuck)
  • Plot is a bit cryptic, with no clear explanation to some of the events

i caved in and bought Project Gorgon, and i kind of like it so far, it's a very old school mmo that's been around for a while, they've added a few more new servers to help with pop numbers as they have exploded(for them)

they have a demo that allows you to play until a certain level

Games? I have time for games?

Still getting settled in the new house/job/life.

I'd love to play more space marine 2. Dark Heresy looks amazing. So does Dxpanse Osiris Reborn.
