Well, originally I decided to bypass the Samsung Note 7 preorder deal because I thought the price might drop by BF. But I guess that's no longer on the horizon, huh?

So, I'll be happy if I can find an nVidia GTX 1080 for a somewhat decent price. I mean, I know I won't be finding them for $400, but even $50 or $60 off would be great. I promised my son that I'd be passing down my 970 to him, so I'll have to buy something on BF. Gaming at 1440P is not the best with only one 970.

Mostly I just look for "great deals" whatever they are, there really aren't a whole lot of things I much feel a really pressing need for...

Not having seen any earth-shaking deals, I have been holding off on buying a living room TV for the past couple of months in anticipation of the holiday shopping season (and I'm not real picky about that, I only want a relatively small, "weak" one by today's standards - ≤ 50", 4K nice, but by no means necessary, would actually prefer "dumb", but don't expect to find such a thing at this point)... Oh, and if I can find a 24" at a really good price, I wouldn't mind replacing the 28" set I currently have in the kitchen, which is small, so the 28"er is kind of overwhelming in there (but ironically was much cheaper than a comparable 24" anywhere around the time I bought it.) I could use a decent (again, "basic") BD player, too... I haven't felt a pressing need for either and none of the sales I've seen over the past few months have struck me as noteworthy. Given that those items are perennial "doorbuster" favorites, I've basically been counting/planning on using credit card price-matching to take advantage of that. Which reminds me, I have to start researching the fine points of those policies..

I'm looking for a laptop and maybe a desktop. I'm looking to get an i7 6th generation 6500 or possibly 6600 2.5ghz or better for $350 and a 6700 desktop at 3.4ghz for $350 as well. I think prices will be pretty good because stores are overstocked and need to get rid of the old stuff in order to make room for the new stuff. I have no problems with getting a 6th generation instead of the current 7th generation. These are pretty darn good computers compared to even 5 years ago.
For those of you who can hold out, in two years all laptops and even desktops will come with SSDs as well and they will probably have 8 core Intel processors as the standard.

I want an original Xbone so I can try those Forza games, but only if the thing is new and reduced in price. Found out the hard way that used consoles can be problematic. Ideally I'll get the kit that lets you have your choice of one downloadable game.
Do they even make kits with two controllers anymore?

I honestly dont know what to get my mom. What would you guys recommend for a chemo patient? She already has several little travel pillows which are useful at the hospital and on the train ride. She has two nice wigs and one OK wig.
Got her a heated foot bath two years ago. She used it a couple times then stuck it in storage. Pretty much everything she wants is already in the house.

Looking for an Apollo Lake / Goldmont-based Gigabyte Brix. Don't know if it will be only ~$100, like my J1900 Brix units were.

Definitely looking for a better sale on BF1 and possibly other games. Possibly deals on SSDs/HDDs.

Actually entertaining a TV this year. 4K prices are bottoming . Sams Club has a 50" Vizio #784404 for $350 and a JVC LT55UE76 55" for $300. Don't care about the sound, that is what a home theater system is for.

The JVC has some bad Walmart ratings however.

PS4 Pro. If I'm going to get a PS4 at this point it'll be a Pro, but it annoys me that there are no bundles for the thing yet.

Look for a new TV too. (Still using this one: R52WH74 https://www.cnet.com/products/rca-r52wh74-52-rear-projection-tv/specs/ - 9 years old, to me) Still on the fence though as I'd rather spend a $1000 elsewhere, but...

I was looking at the 55" version and watched it's prices drop so much, I started looking at the 65." Wow, that TV started $2800 and is now $1697. I just wonder if it will go down further to like $1400 before Christmas.

Of course with upgrades to TVs now, I have to upgrade my AV receiver to match HDCP and HDMI. My very nice AV is only HDMI 1.4.

Sounds crazy but Kohl's will have a 49" Haier for $249, and you get $75 I'm Kohl's cash. .. Figure it will make the lady happy but plenty more stores haven't had ads leak

And it does...well, for one place and just one day? Perhaps not; maybe the other wholesalers will run identical sales since prices on TV are fixed now.

BJ's will be running the following:

Phone. I think I'm coming around to deciding on the Moto Z Play, but I'll keep my mind open if other similarly-priced ones have an insane deal. I have a $100 GC for Best Buy (which I hate normally) so hopefully they'll have something good. Are there normally big discounts on newer phones like this?

Not as intensely, but I'm also keeping an eye on a graphics card upgrade for my R9 285.

One of the newer drones that are more camera than drone, some VR gear, or a new keyboard (piano). More realistically though just hoping to start getting some parts to build an HTPC.

I wanna find a nice set of kitchen knives to replace our aging Cutco set. A nice set of pots and pans to go along with it would be cool too. Glass top non-stick in copper color or maybe red.
