I'm going to skip the trip to the local farmers market and forget about putting it toward a down payment on a new Chevy.

Instead, I talked to a guy who can get me some very pure imported heroin. I figure between that and some foreign hookers, the economy should be ship-shape in no time!

What about the rest of you?

Nice to hear that our domestic tax policy, like our foreign military policy, is helping Afghani warlords!

I will not be receiving a tax rebate, sadly, so no smack for me!

Use it to pay down any debt you have.

This $600 isn't free money; you're just borrowing it from yourself in the future.

Seriously, I am hoping to read people will spend it on computer upgrades, software support, etc. I think I will benefit since I own a computer shop.
The only drawback is that it comes in May when people in Vermont are thinking about summer type purchases and not their computers.
I already spent mine on a treadmill.

Then all I need to do is travel into the future and kill my future self and then I'll never have to pay myself back...

Someone on here was going on that it was going to all income brackets now. I didn't confirm with real news though.

My understanding is that that is not the case - the amount decreases by some set percentage based on how far over $75K your income is, and you don't need a ton of income to get nothing at all.

not decided yet, i will propose these 3 ideas to the wife:

1-trip out west to see family
2-each of us (2 adults, $600 each , 2 kids, $300 each) spend it on our own, whatever each family member chooses
3-pay more off a credit card

$600? Try $2,400 :) Wife + 4 kids...

Heroin and hookers don't go together well. I'm thinking a night in AC, a couple street whores and a whole bunch of crack.

Yep. But boy, look at all those votes! It's worth it!

We've just taken out a hell of a cash advance from Shanghai. But don't worry. The interest rate isn't that bad.

I have a car payment in the 200s, a mortgage payment, and credit cards paid in full every month. I'll be buying myself a set of powerblock(s) dumbells. Made in America. I'll throw my tax return into my savings, however.

I'll use my $600 to pay the mexicans to mow my lawn for the next 15 weeks. They give me a discount if I take care of their western union fees when they send it to their relatives.

Which sort of makes sense, when you think about it. If someone making a fair amount of money gets an extra $600, chances are pretty good they AREN'T going to spend it. Poorer people, on the other hand, tend to have less disposable income and are likely to splurge on something if they get a few hundred extra dollars. Or so the theory goes, at any rate. I suppose one critique might be that $75k hardly qualifies as rich these days.

Edit: I'm going to (probably) use mine to help pay the costs associated with refinancing my mortgage. With rates the way are now, I will be able to save enough each month in interest payments to make the money I spend on getting the new mortgage back within a year or two at most.
