Which BB do you work at? Ill take an A3 for 50 bucks with 7 free movies 😀

You joke, but wait a week or two and some of the deals will be insane. As soon as the A30 is sub $100 I'm biting.

That isnt a joke. This summer I plan to get a 42 inch tv for the bedroom and would love to have an HD-DVD up there.

when I returned mine, my wife was surprised that I had to buy SEPARATE HD disks to view HD content. It just goes to show that for the regular joe, HD is just not that important a jump image wise from dvd just as the other poster has said. Who knows if Blu ray is here to stay especially if players are above $400 and discs are in the $20+ range. It needs to get below $250 players and discs below $15 for the average joe to bite on the format.

The truth really seems to be, while HD is a small step up from DVD, DVD is a huge jump down from HD.

I'd say I have around 40 HD-DVD titles, maybe one day I'll replace them when they come out Blu, but I don't plan on rushing out to do so. I'll probably wait on BD player prices to fall a bit more before I buy one; or I may really just wait for a cheaper combo player (LG's down to 799.99!). For now though, my A3 is doing a great job upscaling.

Back to the OP... I plan to keep the Xbox360 HD-DVD add-on I have, my movies are still going to look just as great as those in Blu-ray do, its still HD quality.

Since I have the external HD-DVD player for my 360 I'm stil going to use it and probably going to buy up all the HD-DVDs still out there. It's still a good player.

I'll just get a PS3 at a good deal, you can walk away with a 40GB for $280 if you know what you're doing.

for those that don't know what they're doing, care to explain?

I just bought my ps3 for $200 so I have an idea, just interested in how your method is executed.

edi: nvm, just read the thread. sign up for the sony CC, which is something I've already done. oh well.

Have had both for over a year. Why would I sell my HD DVD player? It still works like a champ, and there are tons of HD DVD's that will be on sale soon, plus I have lots of standard DVD's that it'll still upconvert and play just fine.

best strategy IMO is to keep the hd player until the combo player drops to $200 or less...then it will be the best of both worlds
