what ARE the differences..between... DET 3..for geforce.. version 6.31 to 6.49/50..? difference?

There seems to be various minor fixes between 6.31 and the latest 6.49/50 drivers. Not much difference in performance.

DirectX 8 is supported in version 7.17 of the Detonator drivers, although they seem to be quite buggy and performance is not as good as the 6.xx series.
 
Remember also the 6.31 are official Nvidia drivers,the later ones are beta drivers which may help if you`re having problems with the 6.31,normally it`s best to stay with official drivers unless you need to try the beta drivers.

it is so damn confusing....
so direct x 8 is not "as good" as direct x 7?

and the "newer" det drivers for geforce...
are betas...and performance wise it is not "as good" as the 6.31 drivers?

I`m using DirectX 8 & 6.31 drivers & have no problems yet,btw also a gamer,just been playing demo of Quake3 TA online which is great.If I find a problem I will let you know but so far everything seems rock solid gaming wise.
