What are the crimes with no victims?

umm, every crime has a victim, but some crimes that have victims are not punishable in some jurisdictions, such as downloading music in Canada

I don't know, smoking weed is illegal in the US and many other places, yet I'd be hard pressed to think of the victim there. Unless of course the victim is also the criminal, but that's not really what we're talking about here.

Kicking a dog in the head until it is dead is also a victimless crime.

Animals arent human so cant be considered a victim.

Um, the artists. How else do you think they can afford private jets if you don't buy their CDs?

EXACTLY! The pot users is the victim in this case. Thats why it is illegal, the gov't trying to protect us from ourselves.

Attempted suicide.

You can be charged with attempted suicide, which technically is considered a crime. However, how can you be the one committing and at the same time the victim?

Smoking pot.

I must agree how is smoking pot a crime, it is completly natural, you take it from the plant itself, no added chemicals

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I understand it correctly, it's not only pot, but "abuse of controlled substances" - stuff such as crack cocaine, meth, heroin, etc. etc.

And technically, yes, they are 'victimless crimes' whether it be shotting herion or smoking weed. It's just that most of those substances are very addictive/change your behavior in unexpected ways, resulting in 'side effects' as gangs, societal breakdown, etc. etc.

For the weed advocates, it's the classification of weed as a "controlled substance" that you should be arguing about.

beside inside trading, can anyone think of one?

how is that a victimless crime ?

There is no victim in insider trading. The law is there to prevent rampant speculation and prevent cheats from pretending to have insider information. Also the whole "fair" thing.
