Finally getting sick of my cheapo $15 antecs.
I think sound is very subjective, so I'm going to tell you what I'm looking for.
-Good balance between base and treble. My antecs had a ridicously low treble and high base, you can hear explosions, but you can't here what people are saying
-Microphone jack, its necessary sometimes to make less noise and it helps in counter-strike
-Clear sound. I'm not going to turn it all the way up, so I don't give a crap about how good it is when its can blow off my ear drums.
-$100 or less, I notice a lot of you like recommending elite items like Klipsch in this case, I can't afford it mind you
I'm a gamer and I listen to mp3s. That's it. No dvds or anything like that. So all I want is sound clarity and surround sound support for games.
How are the logitech z560s? They're a little expensive, but if I get them, I don't think I'll get tired of it for a long long time. I'm afraid the base might be too high. My best buy doesn't have any displays and compusa doesn't have any working displays, nor are they willing to set any up.. bastards...
Any other recommendations? I'm not a very picky guy and I don't feel the need to spend a few hundred on speakers. So please do not recommend the 500 dollar Klipsch promedia 5.1
