What they really need is a movie about a gymnast who must learn to integrate martial arts into his routine in order to win a site for a missile defense system for his country.

Oh, wait...

Arm Wrestling was in "Over the Top"

On the list of greatest movies of all time, this is second only to Cliffhanger.

I kid, Cliffhanger sucked. It's second to none.

Candlestick bowling

(yes it's really a sport. No idea if it's elsewhere in the world but apparantly crazy New Englanders love it)

Sports that have not been in movies:

kickball
cross country skiing
telemark skiing

skiing has been the focus of lots of movies. maybe not that particular kind, though.

The differences between the particular kinds of skiing are as vast as the differences between all the types of sports that involve a ball.

That comment is sorta like saying.

Yea ... I'm just picking apart your post, and no, I have nothing against you ... I guess I just found your post to be worth picking apart today.

cheers.

 That movie has got to suck.
If it weren't for American Ninja, Gymkata would have been THE white-guy-as-ass-kicking-martial-artist movie of 1985.

(That title went to Karate Kid I and II in 1984 and 1986, respectively.).

I just know it because of Jackass. There was a episode where Jai Alai Players chucked Oranges at the gang. It looked painful
