kickball

telemark skiing

skiing has been the focus of lots of movies. maybe not that particular kind, though.

Lagaan (indian movie) is mostly about cricket. I'm sure there are a number of other ones as well.

From the imdb summary page: "Plot Synopsis: This plot synopsis is empty."

Wow, that's harsh.

Diving (swimming) was covered in "Back to School"

Arm Wrestling was in "Over the Top"

I don't think any movie covered Smear the Queer yet.

I guess it depends what you're smearing them with.

Here are a couple of track movies I've seen numerous times, about distance runner Steve Prefontaine: Prefontaine and Without Limits. Mostly focused on running, but a few of the field athletes have some coverage (ex. discus thrower Mac Wilkins).

Actually I think there was just a recent movie called Wimbeldon about tennis, and the movie Top Gun was about volleyball.

Looks like you're right about the Wimbledon movie but Top Gun just had one scene of volleyball. It wasn't about volleyball.

Well that's all I watch it for wink wink.

One of my favorite sports movies growing up was "Cool Runnings" about bobsledding. I haven't seen a single bobsledding movie before or since. It is the seminal, definitive movie on bobsledding I guess.
