What are some old games that you still pick up and play?

I think the oldest game I play frequently is Master of Orion, 1993.
Older than even the original Command and Conquer.
I liked Red Alert, but I think Tiberian Sun was the best of the series.

I play a bunch of older games though, cause my PC can't play anything newer than ~2004.

OpenTTD (transport tycoon deluxe) is probably the oldest game I play, although it has been very infrequent now that I have such a huge Steam backlog.
Amazing. Someone else who still plays that game. I play it every once in a while and get hooked for a few weeks. My wife always asks "What's the point". It probably explains why I like designing PCBs.

i forgot about TTDLX! probably the game i spent the most of my time playing. it has a perfect level of complexity that makes me play it 15 years after i bought it. and it still looks so good! i cant think of another game that has aged so well, graphically.

OH and Deus Ex!

probably the best game i have ever played. beaten it 5-6 times.

I beat it once back in the day and tried to play a few times since, but I just don't get it's popularity, good for it's time is how I feel about it but to some nothing will ever compare which to me is very odd.

Flow - a conspiracy to train people to do circuitboard layouts.

This is what happened when I was turned loose in SimCity4.
Orderly. Consistent. Efficient.

Party hard.

(I did give up on the surface rail eventually. It just offered too little benefit. The roads handled the industrial sector's output, and subways served passengers.)

The Legend of Zelda. I know it's been almost 30 years, but that was one of the very first games I got with my NES. I still love that game.

Final Fantasy 1
Final Fantasy IV (FF2 outside of Japan)
Metroid 1
Castlevania 2
Castlevania 3
River City Ransom
Zelda: A Link to the Past

Oddly enough, I always preferred Zelda 2. It's the only Zelda I ever go back and play. Love the music in it too.

That game is sooooo old. 🙄

When will you useless spam/marketers figure out how obvious you are? Stop cultivating accounts by paying English-speakers to participate just enough to post a link. They couldn't be paying you enough considering your English ability.

Certainly, it is very old game. And what? This thread is about old games we are back to play. Why don't you like?

Do I really need to explain to the spammer that I was being facetious because smartphone games are not "old" games? This is an obvious spam account being cultivated by an English-speaking person paid to make it seem legit by minimally participating in conversations.

Admittedly I had never played Transport Tycoon Deluxe in it's heyday, but I did love Rollercoaster Tycoon. Ever since I found out about it and OpenTTD it is permanently on my play list, if nothing else to track the awesome progress they make with each new build (0.3.2.1 was my first) and the complexity of the GRFs has improved greatly.

I do not want to communicate with such rude people like you. Man, why are you so angry? Angry birds is an old game for me, because I played it many times and back to it again and again. Ok, if you do not like I call it an old game, sorry for my incorrectness. But I cannot understand why you are so irritated. I am a usual person, not so competent in all such questions like you.

But very competent in the ways of the heart.

What do you mean by that?

I have sensed through the tubes that you are a... passionate soul. By my powers I determined that this world of lulz and trolls is not your natural environment. You should abandon this place and seek out and embrace the love around you.

Thanks. But I really cannot understand why people are so rude. Why cannot I participate in discussions? Maybe I want to learn new info for me. But it's impossible to do, because when asking a question, plain, but not realizable for me, or asking for advices, people begin to sneer and humiliate. Why?

Baldur's Gate I & II

Looked through this thread specifically for this game. Hard to find something with the quality of writing, length, and gameplay that Baldur's Gate had. The first Dragon Age is still decent. Are there any other similar games coming out soon like BG?

I heard they were remaking BG2 in HD or something like that. Would be awesome if true.

Keep going back to NES classics (on real NES).

Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario Bros.
Ninja Gaiden
Punch Out!!
Batman (Sunsoft)
