what are some good sad songs?

depends on what your musical tastes are. Richard Marx has some sad ones. "shouldve known better" comes to mind. Gloria Estefan does, too. As does Amy Grant. And check out the double CD called "monster ballads"

Fiona Apple - most 🙂 but "Sullen Girl" and "Loveridden"
Jeff Buckley - "Last Goodbye"
Sarah McLachlan - "Hold On"
Richard Thompson - "Waltzing's for Dreamers"

Pearl Jam - Off He Goes
Ben Folds - Fred Jones Part 2
R.E.M. - Everybody Sucks-- Err I mean Hurts
Counting Crows - Long December

<< Eric Clapton's "If I Saw You in Heaven" ... ultimate sad song about the loss of his son. >>

The correct title is "Tears in Heaven" and that is the first song that popped into my mind with the thread title. That song and Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd.

Wham/George Michael - Careless Whispers.

I Just Called to Say I Love You - Stevie Wonder - i dont know if this song is sad or not...but i find it very haunting and sad in a way maybe because of Stevie being blind.

Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven <--Ultimate Sad Song
Ben Harper - Another Lonely Day
Jackson Browne - Late for the Sky

Brian McKnight - Anytime
Fuel - Hemorrhage (In My Hands)
Fuel - Bad Day
Radiohead - Creep
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under The Bridge

-Tom

Type O Negative - Everyone I love is dead
Type O Negative - Everything Dies
Type O Negative - Bloody Kisses
Type O Negative - Can't lose you
(all though Type O can be over the top/campy it still qualifies as music to kill yourself by)
Kidney Thieves - Pretty
Volition - Only Me
Bauhaus - Who Killed Mr. Moonlight
Bauhaus - All we wanted was everything
Tori Amos - Winter
Tori Amos - China
Doors - The End
Sisters of Mercy - 1959
Black Tape for a Blue Girl - pretty much any song. Although their music isn't really sad, as much as it is ambient depression.
Joy Division - Love will tear us apart

Well, that's all I can think of off the top of my head...

Lethal

The Ataris - between you and me
millencolin - the ballad
unwritte law - cailin
Dispatch - out loud
metallica - fade to black
