That is fine. The only problem that I had with that approach, is the bars are not very filling, and replacing my 2nd and 4th meal with them was getting too pricey to keep up. I ended up adding things like apples, general roughage like salad, carrots, or celery. (it is easy to forget your fiber) Then after all that, I realized I wasn't saving myself that much time or convenience since I was making a regular meal anyway, just minus whatever my protein source was.
So now in the morning, I just make my steak, chicken, ground beef pack them up with the other stuff I made to make my meals. Overall, I ended up better off money wise, and I will take cold chicken or steak over a protein bar anytime.
But I do agree with firebot, overall protein bars just aren't worth it. They don't provide much of anything. The only good thing is they come in a ready to eat pakage, don't need refrigeration, and do not make a mess to clean up.
