what are some good protein bars to take?

Strictly just the protrien or the semi-meal replacement bars?

Overall I like the taste of the Muscle-Tech line, Nitro-tech. They are a little pricey comared to some others (EAS has a decent line, but tasted like stale whatever they are trying to imitate).

You are paying for the convenience, as you will never get enough overall protein with bars, and they tend to be not enough to replace your meals, and some have a lot of sugars, so watch out, read the labels and adjust according to your overall goal. (increase protein intake, low carb, or whatever you are trying to do)

Protein bars are crap. If you are trying to workout these are the last things you should be buying. Make yourself a healthy protein shake with protein powder, or heck just get the protein from a real food source.

ok well i like to take some protein bars along with taking green bulge creatine.
Protein bars would sort of replace a meal, i mean iwould eat other stuff too just not like junkfood.

That is fine. The only problem that I had with that approach, is the bars are not very filling, and replacing my 2nd and 4th meal with them was getting too pricey to keep up. I ended up adding things like apples, general roughage like salad, carrots, or celery. (it is easy to forget your fiber) Then after all that, I realized I wasn't saving myself that much time or convenience since I was making a regular meal anyway, just minus whatever my protein source was.

So now in the morning, I just make my steak, chicken, ground beef pack them up with the other stuff I made to make my meals. Overall, I ended up better off money wise, and I will take cold chicken or steak over a protein bar anytime.

But I do agree with firebot, overall protein bars just aren't worth it. They don't provide much of anything. The only good thing is they come in a ready to eat pakage, don't need refrigeration, and do not make a mess to clean up.

The best protein bars hands down are Met-RX bars. Period. Tsaico, I am going to assume you are new to lifting because Muscle-Tech is overhyped, overpriced, crap.

Except it is much cheaper and more effective to buy protein shakes and mix them. And, remember, supplements are only to supplement or add to what you are getting from food.

EAS's Myo is also a good meal replacement powder if you are cutting.

Well, I wouldn't call myself new, but I do agree that their protein bars are not the greatest. It is really about the flavor for me. EAS is good, but the bars were just so dense, and they had a odd after taste. But F22 is right, protien shakes are a zillion times cheaper, and most of them taste better too.

I get the protein bars from costco.

Costco has some good selections.

I don't do bars. I do supplement with about 4 protein shakes a day 40g x2 and 20g x2 in addition to my meals.

Bars offer the person that needs to chew something a solution.

I don't care to eat, just need it to grow.
