You were just asking me the same question over and over again, and I chose not to reply. I wouldn't call that fighting.

<< I like the Sony and iiyama monitors. I find the Sony joystick mouse under the monitor to be a better control method then the iiyama's 3 button.

both the screens look good to me. My iiyama Vision Master Pro 450 has great specs. I love it. Better specs then the Sony one. The Sony one looks more stylish though......

i macs are pretty too, do you have one of those? :p :D

nope I don't have an imac. Don't like the styling of them personally. The 15" screen is FAR too small for my liking anyway. I prefer clean lines and not the 'bubble' type of screen that is the imac.

I can't speak for everyone but having two 20" LCDs myself, there is absolutely no way I can go back. The sharpness is untouchable on a CRT, you don't have to worry about refresh rates, screen geometry, or screen curvature, and there's no comparison in the amount of space consumed. Not to mention that you can always unhook a flat panel from its stand and hang it on the wall...

The major complaints on LCDs are contrast ratio and response times but with good ones, both can be almost indistinguishable from CRTs.

Sony, iiyama, NEC, and Hitachi. I've owned all four and never had a single problem with any of them. Do yourself a favour and go to a local store to buy that 21"+ monitor. Shipping companies always seem to damage them. ;)

Exactly.

Since I purchased my SGI 1600SW last year, I would NEVER go back to a CRT monitor. I can look at my LCD all day and my eyes will be no more tired than if I were sitting and reading a book all day.

The sharpness is amazing, and they use substantially less power. Late-model LCDs have also seemed to get the ghosting issue under control.

LONG LIVE THE LCD!

I've had a 21" Mitsubishi Diamondtron, 21" Iiyama Diamondtron and a 21" Sony G520 Trinitron. I liked the Mitsubishi the best. Although, I blew the tube with static discharge and was forced to get the Sony when they were out of stock.

I don't care what anybody says, the picture quality of an LCD cannot rival a tube. LCDs are too grainy IMHO.

<< Yeah, i heard all kinds of horror stories about LCDs. Broken pixels, FPS, etc. >>

Another case where the whiners are louder than the satisfied. If you're willing to pay a little more for an LCD with a good response time, you won't notice ghosting, color bleed or most of the typical FPS symptoms associated with LCDs. I guarantee you, if you are a stickler for image quality and see a high quality LCD at its native resolution on DVI, it'll spank even the best CRTs.

You must have seen some real crap LCDs if you think CRTs have better image quality...

High end LCDs wipe the floor with high end CRTs. What you people are comparing are high end CRTs vs low end LCDs. Sure sure high end LCDs cost alot more than high end CRTs but its not fair to compare a low end LCD to a high end CRT.

Those newer high end LCDs are incredible...

i'm using a nanao flexscan f750i. now this monitor is from 1993 and it still looks good compared to most of the "budget" junk out there. nanao is now eizo. but they make great monitors. And after 9 years of use, this baby still has uniform color, no banding, and no bad spots, or dark areas. its great. yea its max if detected as a "plug and play monitor " in winxp is 1600x1200 x 75hz, and if set as "nanao flexscan 750" the max is 1280x1024x72hz. but 1600x1200 x 75hz for a 9 year old monitor isnt bad.

FD trinitron is not good for like CAD. too much corner distortion , etc. but for like text its good.
